A high speed low pass from a B1 bomber out of Dyess AFB would not be leathal, but could change some minds

Just because it sometimes worked before doesn’t mean it was effective.

We used a KC-135 one time for a show of force at 1,000 AGL and bought enough time for the friendly forces to accomplish the mission.

I got a question. If you owned a large piece of land on the border.... what legal right do you have at stopping them from stepping foot on your property?
    I like this question.
The short answer is you do not have that right to shoot at them simply for walking across your property.....(currently).

I say this because two things come to mind:
    - First, the use of Lethal Force or deadly force: "In most jurisdictions in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, the use of deadly force is justified only under conditions of extreme necessity as a last resort, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed." That means, that unless you or another person's life or well being is in imminent danger, you better not pull that trigger if you don't want to be prosecuted in a court of law. That is how it is right now, and hopefully it stays that way.

    However...

    - Second, many US citizens feel this is an invasion, and the act of a foreign mob forcefully pushing through the border could be interpreted as an act of war as this will cause instability at the border and a burden to our local economy. That is why some militia is heading down there. Although not formally stated, if the State of Texas or the USA formally declares that we are under attack I can assure all of you that all bets are off and the first topic may no longer apply.

I sincerely hope the latter does not happen.
These people coming up from the south are unarmed, and it will be an ugly situation any way you cut it if it does fall apart.

They'll get tired and go home.

    So true.
Most ain't gonna walk 1,000 miles to arrive on the very day that they are LEAST likely to cross into the US.

All this talk of "invasion" is foolishness.
    Sending the military is showmanship.

Has it occurred to anyone at all that all the "caravans" and "invaders" add up to less that the number of illegal border crosser in any given week of the year.

    5,000 invaders?
That's an average 2-4 days worth.
    Meh.

    A media event mostly.

    Yes.
Gullible media-addicted fools that we are?

About 10-12,000 invaders a week is about average, every week of our lives.

The most dangerous assault weapons in our nation are CNN and FoxNews.

OK... so use of deadly force?

Really? I don’t think this is the correct response. They’re coming and will have to be dealt with in a civil humanitarian manor. Most likely many will get deported back to where they came from. I have to agree, this is more of a Media spectacle than a major event. This is happening every day. We need better border security.

Guess how quickly the obvious invasion would stop if n is dropped on directly and perhaps/also have a chilling (oh the irony) affect to the sneaky invaders? To hell with world opinion. They (in the world) aren't potentially being invaded now are they?

Hyperbole about dropping a tad of n. , some, but not entirely..

And you hand wringers who stand back and cluck your dismay and well, "I don't know about doing something, attitudes - um, like bad things could happen if we defend ourselves" can take a back seat and start in thumb sucking and going into fetal positions of doubt.

So if 3,000 people on foot are at your property, how would you stop them from crossing your land? Call the authorities and claim trespassing? At that point would they stop them? I'm just trying to see how this would play out as a private land owner who doesn't want them crossing his land.

I wonder if disparity of force would apply as an affirmative defense......

As stated, it's a media circus. They aren't going to sneak across anywhere. They're paid to be in front of the cameras.

    They'll stick to the highways.
