The only time I have witnessed a hangfire is with a mosin shooting some strange surplus ammo(not the russian red cased stuff) and it only hung up for 2-3 seconds from what I remember. That was a long hangfire. I've experienced at least 50 hangfires in my life <story omitted> but none of them displayed that length of time between primer strike and ignition. That's scary.
^ That's the only hang fire I've witnessed - other than on a Four Deuce mortar which made a squad leader brown-out his pants.Seem some hang fires with an old 303 using surplus ammo

You are absolutely correct. I slowed it down to 1/4 speed and watched it again. It's clearly the jug that blows up.I don't think it's real.

Was he the same person? Jk. It was a pretty long delay. Like flintlock delay lol.Had a guy bring out an old .303 and some surplus ammo. Offered to let me shoot it after he had fired a few rounds. Had a pretty good delay between the pin drop and firing.
I only shot it once and recommended he not shoot it anymore without new ammo and a good cleaning. He said “nah, it’s just the way it shoots”.
Some people can’t be helped.

Every year some Darwin Award contestants load muzzleloaders with smokeless powder and blow things up.
Heck, It was black!
Happens a lot.
