I vote for the candidate I want to vote for. I don’t base my vote on who I think others are voting for.

I doubt there will be another candidate in 2020 I like better than Trump. However I won’t guarantee I’ll vote for Trump if a candidate I like better runs.

Imagine if people had done something, maybe criticized Trump when he allowed the definition of a machine gun to be stretched beyond recognition.

I’m frustrated with Trumps 2A actions. I’m more frustrated with gun owners making excuses for him.

He wants to be popular. He thrives on being adored by his base. TELL HIM! Tell him he is fucking up. Tell him he’s losing support. Keep making excuses for him and you will watch your favorite president piss the 2A right down the drain and all the next Dem in power will have to do is sweep up the crumbs.

Dammit. It’s not against the rules to tell Trump he’s fucking up. Letting him chip away at the 2A without making noise is no better than allowing a Dem to do it.

Think about it. Since he’s been elected Trump has harmed the 2A more than Obama did. SAY SOMETHING!

    Damn.

What did Obama succeed in banning?

Hell, the closest he got was an attempt at M855 and that failed. Because gun owners spoke up.

Keep being smug thinking your safe because Trump was elected. I’m sure your snarky comments will bring back bump stocks and put a someone who’s pro 2A in charge of the ATF.

    Younggun,

You're 100% correct. = As one member said, it's past time for every supporter of our NATURAL RIGHTS to write to the POTUS & tell him that we expect him to start OPENLY supporting the 2nd & STOP cooperating with the LEFTIST GUN-HATERS..

And Trump might actually listen, unlike any resent POTUS. There’s actually a pretty good chance.

    QFT.

Not only did Obama not harm us, he helped us with NP Carry, and 12 Big Wins
    https://www.nraila.org/articles/20111118/twelve-big-wins-for-gun-owners

And dont forget, it was Obama's ATF that watered down ATF-41P to not require CLEO sigs.

2+ Years Trump On Guns Has Been Worse Than 8 Years Obama On Guns

    Renegade,

IF you are correct (I'm not stating that you are.) it is NOT for want of trying by BHO's coven of leftist crooks/creeps/haters to permanently neuter the 2nd Amendment to the BoR.

he's still a better President than...

The second you said that, your argument lost all meaning. If your only way of defending someone is to say that "at least they're not X", then maybe you should be asking yourself why you are defending someone like that in the first place. My views of someone are based on their character and their character alone. Not that they are better than some other person or that they haven't fucked up quite as bad as the last guy.

Voting for a candidate that has no chance of winning is like throwing my vote in the trash.

Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. You're still harming the country by voting for that person, you're just harming it slightly less than you would be by voting for the other guy.

The reason a third party can't win is due solely to your mindset. People think they can't win, so they vote for the lesser of two evils instead of a legitimately good candidate. That mindset is killing this country. At some point, we're going to have to ask ourselves whether we just want to keep killing the country slowly until it finally dies, or if we want to man up and take a risk that could save it and "make America great again".

We are in a vicious cycle of voting for the lesser of two evils. We're not just going to magically get out of that cycle. Action will have to be taken, and there will be risks. When do we break that cycle? When it's already too late and the country is in shambles?

    Maverick44,

PITY that thinking adults have to deal with REALITY & the FACTS are that NO 3rd Party candidate can WIN in the Electoral College, because the States have fixed it that way.
Not in 2024, 2028 or any other year.
    Period. End of story.

I called, emailed and sent snail mail to Trump about gun control. My wife has done the same. This was about a month ago, I guess it is time to do it again.

I call, email and snail mail not only Trump but my state and federal Reps and Senators on a regular basis and on a variety of subjects. Too bad that more people don't do the same.

I saw no viable third party candidate, not one any better than Trump has been.

Trump has done a fair job in most areas, it’s only his 2A positions I have a major issue with. It was my major concern during the primaries. He won the primaries and at that point he was the best option. Because no candidate will ever fit everyone’s idea if he perfect guy it will always be a “lesser of evils” choice to some extent, regardless of the number of evils there are to choose from.

The only major criticisms I have with Trump are in regards to his 2A decisions. And even then I know that his populist tendencies make him a president that could easily be swayed to start pushing pro gun agendas, but it will only happen if he hears his base is pissed off.

Why do you think he flopped on immigration policies for a while? He started backing down, base got pissed, and he did a 180. It was discussed not to long ago when his DHS director(?) stepped down.
