    To All,

I tend to have "a heavy foot" & in the last 20 years since I got a carry permit I've been stopped for speeding at least 5-6 times.

NEVER had a DPS or the VA state patrol even consider giving me a ticket in 2+ decades.
(I've received 1 verbal warning & 1 written warning in all of those times.)

Note: The last time that I was in VA, I was stopped at a "Sobriety Check Point", with many other people.
The county patrolman asked me for my DL/insurance card. - I said my DL is next to my handgun & "How would you like me to do this?"

He said, "That's OK. - Have a nice night." & then "waved me through" the checkpoint, without delay.

    yours, satx

I got read the riot act and ticketed for 103 in a 65 one night in my youth. I'd glad he pulled that number out of his rear, because the real number was "a little" higher.

The GPS had JUST rolled over into triple digits when his lights came on. He scolded me for doing "89". Nice guy :D

Most of us call that a console.

    What I call a console:

    And previously, these:

Also, those boards with bunches of buttons, dials and sliders:

The thing between the front seats, typical with an armrest on top, is called the center console in industry-speak.

Here’s mine, with proper gun storage

Learn something new every day, whether I want to or not. I thought that storage hole and its surroundings were the center console:

What's that gun you got there? Looks kinda PPK-ish, but usable ;)

I drive with my wallet on top of my center console so I can retrieve my license & insurance without having to reach into my pocket or glovebox.

I haven’t been pulled over in years though.

IMO a good spot for insurance is the visor above the steering wheel.

Image you’re the cop and how respectful it is if the guy you stop uses detailed questions and never proceeds to do anything unless you give the verbal ok/see what’s happening. It’s respectful in that the goal is to 1, the cop needs a good view of what’s going on for his safety, and 2, the cops just trying to be safe so you might sound like a dork but simple things like “may I proceed” before you do an action go a long way to maintain a healthy conversation.

Edited: and don’t forget to be happy. Lol that’s just me though. I think it’s been 15 years from being pulled over

I didn’t want to waste all the storage space in that huge console so I went a different route. GunVault under the back seat. It holds 2 full-size pistols and spare mags, and I can reach behind me from drivers seat and open it without looking at it or taking my other hand off the wheel.

    Fancy!

Typically, I carry a PPS in a pocket holster and I stick that between the "console" and the passenger seat when I sit down. Black windows, black seats, black holster, black gun, I'm gonna call that "not in plain sight". If I ever get pulled over again, gonna swap it from the insurance card from the "console" real quick.

I know it’s strange. Lol. I just like to be courteous. I would hate to listen to the public all day. That’s all. They are human. They have bad days too. Sometimes sure, bad apples are out there.

I feel like you missed the tongue-in-cheek nature of that post.
