$1,700.00 is less then I paid for mine, but they had just come out & were not readily available to civilians. I ever tell you the story about the FBI showing up at a shop in Houston that bought stolen PSQ-18A.Yeah, last one I saw went for about 1700. They’re rock solid, compared to the flimsy plastic peq2, peq15, and peq16’s. I’m done messing with those. Once they break, they’re done, there’s no sending them in to get fixed.

That's a sweet rifle! You need to go shoot some african game with it even if it's here, & under a high fence! My Husqvarna Model 46 in 9.3x57mm Mauser.

IIRC, it's made from a Swedish Mauser circa 1943, so it's cock on closing which I really enjoy. The scope mount came with the gun, and the damn thing appears to be welded to it. The rail is some oddball European style that won't accept weaver or picatinny style mounts and the mounts that do fit it are rare and expensive in the US. I found an adapter meant to convert .22 rails to weaver rails, and made it work after a bit of filing. It seems to be holding on just fine. It's a bit higher than I'd like, but it's usable. I've been wanting to make a leather cheek riser for it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. The scope is a Weaver K4. It didn't seem right sticking a modern scope on a nearly 80 year old rifle, and the K4 is surprisingly clear. Even compared to modern stuff, it's pretty good. The nice thing about the side rail mounted scope is that the iron sights are 100% usable.
It seems to like this best.

It's a 285gr cast bullet, and hits 2116 FPS right out of the muzzle. It doesn't lead at all, and actually shoots tighter groups than the 270gr soft point Speers that cost about $20 for 50. It gives you a good kick, but it's not horrible. It's a bit more than a 30-06, but it's less of a jolt and more of a push. I can reform 30-06 brass to 9.3x57mm pretty easily, so reloading for this gun is cheap. It's probable about $0.30 per round.

That's why I shot mine in Africa. I told my africa hunting partner we should go to the Y.O.'s game auction & buy an eland just to have it processed into meat.I'd love to do something like that, but boy is it expensive. I'll stick to deer and hog for now.
You don't have a SureFire Vampire weapon light?
Me likey. I've been wanting to do a retro build like that for awhile now. I think Brownells recently went crazy with the retro AR style stuff, so building one would probably be pretty easy to do now.
I hated early AR15 for the sound the buffer spring made in the A1 stocks.
I guess my hearing loss is enough since the first AR that I no longer notice it. It sure aint about focus at my age.Its easy to ignore if you focus on more important things
And its not the a1 stock. A2, and every other rifle length tube makes it, even the a5 on my go to ar makes the same noise, its just the rifle spring just makes that noise.
Think of it like the ping on an M1 Garand. Its just the way it is
