I've read all 90 pages on this thread. Just caught up.

The fact is she entered someone else's home. Then she shot them. To death. Not her house. No legal or justifiable reason for her to be there.

If anything, her being an officer makes her 'more' guilty- to me, at least: I expect cops to be able to work schedules such as she worked that week and still make critical, life-altering decisions- and come out the other side having mostly made reasonable and prudent decisions.

Sorry that she was confused, but I don't think that's a sound, or legal, defense. Otherwise, we should all get out of tickets whenever we're confused about where the speed limits change...

    LOL.

If we allowed cops to be the sole decision maker on whether a cop committed a crime, no cop would ever get charged. Which is what this guy thought, she committed no crime whatsoever. No charges, go back to work like nothing happened. Most folks in this forum do not buy that....

The simple fact is he was way the phuck out of his lane. His job is to investigate, then turn over results to DA, who makes the decision, based on those facts as well as other evidence he might not be privvy to, and other factors, as to whether charges are warranted.

    Wait it gets better:

ME says Botham was shot from a downward angle (he was 10 inches taller), and DA says she shot him on couch. Defense says he got up and lunged at her. You would think blood splatter would confirm which.

I find it hard to believe a non-criminal sitting on his couch eating vanilla ice cream watching football is going to get up and lunge at a cop pointing a gun at him. Add to the fact that everything her defense team has said to date is make believe or lies via omission. Has Guyger post-shooting statement been entered yet?

And if she can see him on couch, how can she still not figure out she is in wrong apt? Did she leave her ironing board in front of couch too? (as seen on body cam).

    So many unanswered questions still.

I attended many shootings, there was seldom blood splatter from the shots. Sometimes little external bleeding and sometimes a lot of bleeding.

and that splatter bleeding blood whatever the term would be in places that should paint a picture where he was. Along with entry angles through clothes etc this really should not be a mystery. Also we have the trajectory of the bullet miss

We should all ask ourselves: if we came home late at night, and found a large strange man in our home, how would we respond? What if you were a small woman? What if you worked in public safety and knew certain people might be out to get you?

Would you stand and chat? Or, something else?

In that vein, we should also all ask ourselves, are we really in our home.

I’m sorry, but situational awareness is required. Why?

Because it’s fucking unusual for there to be someone that isn’t visually recognizable in your home. Just as unusual as going to the wrong place and assuming it’s your home.

Once the SA train has left the building, all kinds of weird shit can happen, like mistakenly shooting the homeowner in their own home.

I just don't buy it. The time I clearly remember walking into, although house, most all the houses looked the same with curving roads, making it difficult at night to differentiate one from another. As soon as I opened the door, I knew something was wrong, things were out of place. I said my apologies and quickly left.

I would think that a police officer would be even more trained to assess situations as part of their job. Her lack of judgement was unforgivable in my view.

Did she attempt First Aide at any time? Seems to me she should have been beating on his chest while on the phone with 911 until medics/other officers came on scene. (others here with LE experience, please let us know what normal procedure is for providing First Aide to a suspect who is no longer deemed a threat).

no but she did call her lover to cancel the booty call. Horrible optics here. Arriving police said he was still alive and did FA. When EMT arrived he was no longer breathing/beating and did not come back

Investigators investigate and report the findings. Now you are just being over dramatic with no cop would ever be charged non-sense. How many cops have been charged and fired from their agency in the last five years and then got back pay and their job back when it goes to criminal and civil court? You know why the Chief requested DPS to investigate. You say he was out of his lane and I would say it is more common than a lot of people think. The prosecutor goes over every question they are gonna ask BEFORE the witness goes on trial 99% of the time. It went from a non-bias investigation to a political theater.
Do you honestly think investigators just investigate and hand over the case file to the prosecutor and the prosecutor never asks them squat about the case? Let me know where that happens so I do not move there.

Yes, I was making pointing about inherent bias. Glad you were able to realize I did not literally mean no cop has ever charged another cop.

Do you honestly think investigators just investigate and hand over the case file to the prosecutor and the prosecutor never asks them squat about the case?

I never said they did not talk, I said "His job is to investigate, then turn over results to DA". That does not imply they never discuss the case. This guy was like Jim Comey trying to exonerate HRC. It is just not his place.

she was 1 for 2 from 13 feet
I thought 2 rounds center mass 1 miss.
Still whole patrol divisions have fired dozens of rounds at that distance and all missed or made only peripheral hits, rather routinely I might add.

Off the top of my head See NYPD.

13 feet isnt that close under stress with a handgun, real stress or self induced.

Hell, I've seen lots of Police and Corrections officers miss whole strings of fire at 3, 5 and 7 yards practicing for qualls.

    Just sayin.

So today on FOX4 they are going over Armstrong testimony. They showed pix he took of the two apartments and how they were similar. Problem is, the pic of Botham apartment is incorrect, the ironing board is removed and many other items that were visible in the bodycam video are no longer there. Now they might have been moved as a result of life-saving efforts, but for the lead investigator to not know or mention this and put forth incorrect photos is disturbing to say the least.

I have started only reading every 5th page. The same thing is being said, and the same arguments being had over and over anyway

well if you are only reading every 5th page and only seeing same arguments you are clearly missing all the evidence summaries that are being provided each day. Yes the signal to noise ratio is low, but there is lots of fact in there.
