Just so people on both sides have a legitimate reason to get butt hurt...

1 like I've said in the past, as I have witnessed, the bs mantra of going home alive being the number one priority is drilled into these kids and they, ones who probably shouldn't be cops to begin with, are operating from a position of fear they are all gonna kill me.

    It should be.
Your number 1 job is to protect n serve and ensure if you do kill someone its damn sure necessary. People you run into may be dangerous let me teach you tactics and procedures to mitigate that threat because I dont want you hurt or dead. Going home alive is second only to protecting and serving and you obviously have to risk your lives at times to do that.

Not much difference in the two. Except for operating from a position of fear or knowledge and tactics. And yes I have been there and dont need your indignation and but hurt.

2 this shooting looks bad. Before anyone makes a decision you need to know what info he was given and operating under.

You also need to know their proceedures for securing scenes like this before entering the house.

That will be the difference between justified or not. Justification is the question here, legally.

I dont think anyone can argue it was a bad shoot. Very bad.

Again if these kids were taught that serving and protecting requires you to ensure there is an actionable threat not just fear for life things might be different.

I couldnt give a shit less about sex or race and neither should anyone else unless there are facts found to make it matter. That said, it's not the world we live in. The last shooting wasnt racially motivated, the witness killing wasnt racially motivated or even related to the case. People who push those narratives need to be related to irrelevance. IMHO.

Now everyone can shit on me. Looking back she shouldn't be dead and he shouldn't have killed her. Police are operating in difficult circumstances and that has to be taken into account. If you as a citizen did this under any circumstances you're toast. Police called to a scene have different parameters. The questions will be did they follow proceedures, who was in command and what instructions were responding officers given if any.

I know cop haters will call that boot kicking. Well if you're to ignorant to look at each incident independent of others and your own bias I couldnt care less about your opinion.

Some law Enforcement, my life career by the way, will shit on my opinions for a different reason. I get it but you too need to look at each incident on its merits and make decisions appropriately. If we fail to learn from mistakes and refuse to make changes we will loose the support of the people. Then you are just some low rent security no one respects. Police officers must spearhead changes when issues arise to keep legitimacy.

I’ve only watched the video once, but I didn’t hear the shooter or anyone else identify themselves as police officers. Is that not part of current training? I don’t believe Amber identified herself either. She said she yelled, “Show me your hands!”

That's what the uniform is for. Just sayin.

I agree with you, especially in an incident like this where it should be obvious people inside a lighted room cant see people outside.

Video was cut after the shot was fired. Would like to see the video after the shot. WTF moments can shed more details.

As others have said about themselves, I'm very pro-LEO, but this video shows a tragic and unnecessary murder. I wonder if this is a case where the cop - who was very young according to the source - was badly trained or if he is just someone who does not have the necessary calm under fire to be a cop. It does seem like cops are being trained to protect themselves over anything else.

We had a situation in my neighborhood where a teen tried to do "suicide by cop". He was extremely lucky, the lead cop who showed up was older and kept his cool. He recognized what was going on and negotiated the kid into giving up. A decade later, that kid is now an EMT. Not everybody has the ability to remain calm under pressure and to think a situation out.
