    Generally if we order something it comes in 2 days......is that a longer wait than ordering it on line?

    Serious question....

    No, that's pretty quick.

    I also haven't seen a shop around here that is like yours (well from what I hear that is but I trust it's a good one).

    Not for me until they start carrying an inventory and don't just tell me "Well I can order that for you."

    Unless you count Academy.
    Yeah, I can order it myself. This goes for anything, not just guns and ammo.

    I can not stand it when a website for a local retailer shows an item in stock and I take time out of my day to drive to their fucking store only to be told by some mouth breathing tard “ it is not here but in our online store. We can order it for you”

    Free shipping is going to be key. I just looked at the $7.99 PMags from Grab-a-Gun, PSA was still cheaper by about a $1 with free shipping on their $8.99 mags with free shipping.

    Of course I reckon, all my dickering around with a few cents won't mean shit if the market goes crazy over elections/legislation and all AR mags wind up being $20+. :p

    Same here. I don't really have a LOCAL store. Only one nearby actually charges list price or higher. Were there a true LGS, I'd likely patronize it.

    I can appreciate the sentiment. What kills the small shop like ours, even the online folks don't really have it in "their" inventory. It will be drop shipped from a distributor that actually has it in inventory. Bud's is a perfect example. They don't have a warehouse full of inventory. Distributors won't drop ship for the little guys. Not enough volume. Bud's sells on volume with inventory they don't have to pay for to have sitting around. Tough to compete with that. It can be disheartening to find guns selling on line 50.00 - 100.00 cheaper than we can buy them..

    All we can do is try to be competitive and give good customer service.....Bud's and Academy won't help you with a warranty issue. Even if you didn't buy it from us, we will...

    I can appreciate that.

    Unfortunately the biggest value for me that an LGS has is being able to actually handle a gun, see how it shoulders and points, run its action and pull the trigger. That's why inventory matters to me and I'll pay a bit of a premium to do so.

    I actually do buy most of my guns at a local shop. Ammo on the other hand is almost 100% online.

    I would have spent money at your place but you seem to be closed every time I say I am coming to Rockport. ;) Almost as if you are trying to tell me something.’:roflfunny:

    You know you are welcome at all times, good Sir.....

    I will admit our inventory is limited right now. We just had the slowest summer season we've ever had in the 14 years we've been in business....things are beginning to pick back up in the last month.....LTC classes have been booming especially......have you noticed an increase in your area?

    Seems like it is. I am turning down a few classes from instructors I usually substitute for because I am working in Massachusetts right now and the two weekends a month I am home I have zero desire to teach a class.

    Yes I will, but alas, here in the birthplace of United States I am without a smoke wagon:(

    I usually go to my in-laws farm in northeast Pennsylvania on the weekends I don’t come home, but let me know where it is in NH and I will try to make it up. Sounds like a hoot.

    I just placed two identical orders for ammo. Ordered 4 boxes of American Eagle 9mm from SGammo and 4 boxes of the same from Target Sports USA.

    Total cost from SGammo
    4 boxes American Eagle 9mm = 39.80
    Sales Tax = 3.39
    Shipping with insurance = 12.40
    Total = 55.59

    Total cost from Target Sports USA
    4 boxes American Eagle 9mm = 37.96
    Sales Tax = 00.00
    Shipping with insurance = 12.08
    Total = 50.04

    Just saying, no tax at Target Sports USA
