The last two weeks I was in northwest Virginia for work. I drove there and back.

You know all the electronic billboards that advertise real time waits for emergency rooms? Not one had a wait time of over 10 minutes. Dallas, Little Rock , Memphis , Nashville, Knoxville , Harrisonburg. Major city hospital ERs and 10 minute or less wait times for their emergency rooms.

I was at one of the local major hospitals in the texas medical center a couple of days ago. My pregnant wife was having some back pain and they wanted us to come in to make sure it was just back pain and not related to labor.

We went to the ER entrance first, because the one we thought we were supposed to go to was closed. Then we talked with them and got directed to the right entrance. It was DEAD. We might have seen a dozen people total. There was no activity at the ER entrance except for a very bored cop doing regular security, and a bored admitting nurse. We passed people at the front door, all of them doing fever screening. Then a few nurses at the station in the maternity ward. A total of two of them came into the room while we were there. That's it.

I've spent years working in hospitals, in IT so a lot of work is after hours. I have never seen a hospital that empty.

I'm not going to wear a mask, but I do duck walk backwards when as I enter HEB.

My nearby neighbor went kayaking with a pal yesterday.

He ain't a skeered a no gd unsociable distance bothersome bs...

I saw him as he was exiting his pals pickup loaded with 2 kayaks.

He was getting his out of the bed when we locked eyes and I started clapping and gave him a big thumbs up gesture.

He was grinning like a loon.

Made feel good.

Not everyone has gone bonkers!
