My choices are:
2015 Jeep Wrangler $18k 123k mikes
2014 Chevy Silverado $18k 113k miles
2014 Ford F-150 $19k 92k miles
Other suggestions are accepted
Not dismissing the Chevrolet, but if I remember correctly starting with the 2014 year models there were some transmission issues. Still was prevalent in the 2018 models. My 2018 was in the shop twice with issues. Just an FYI to google this and find out if the truck has the troublesome transmission.
I gotta say the Chevy.I got 420K before my motor gave (was poor at oil changes). New motor and ready to turn 500k.
I will add the transmission had to be rebuilt a few times over the course of time (4L60E I think) and only cosmetic upkeep. It's a 2000 Silverado Z71.Thank you, friend. This has been my experience with Chevies as well.
PEDMAS,
IF it was ME buying another used PU, I would have nothing but a low mileage/one owner FORD with MANUAL transmission, behind a 4.6 v8 engine & PREFERABLY out of an estate sale.
(Personally, i keep my PUs until they are nearly ready for the salvage yard as "scrap metal" & an old-school F150, even half well maintained will run for 300, 000+ miles.)
Fwiw, my current daily driver is a 2-owner 1992 Lincoln Town Car, with about 70,000 original miles, which has the same 4.6L engine that is in the F150. = After some normal replacement of "wear out" items, like the fuel pump, filters & some other minor repairs, it runs GREAT & may well outlast ME.
(The Town Car, the Crown Victoria & the Mercury Grand Marquis share most of the same "running gear" with the 1/2 ton PU.)
Fwiw, I know several taxi drivers, who are still driving a GM, Crown Vic or TC & that the odometer has over 400,000 miles & their taxi still runs OK.
(Other than possibly "police pursuit" use, taxi service is harder on a car than most any other driving.)
IF you want help finding an "estate sale PU", PM me.
(Since I retired from the Army, I constantly trawl the ads for antique boats, outboards & also look for antique cars "to feed my addictions", so looking for you too costs me ZILCH.)
just my OPINION, satx

Yep. The engine is important though. I've got a 4.6 in my F150 and it's blown one spark plug through the head. Wasn't a big deal to me, but the triton engines were notorious for it. I'd still pick the Ford from the group.I'd go with the Ford, but have it checked out by a mechanic with one of those high dollar diagnostic tools. Chevy would be my second choice. Either way, have it checked out by a mechanic. And forget about the Jeep.
Thanks buddy! I had a beautiful 96 town car I wish O had never got rid of. I do believe it would have lasted me through retirement.
I will pm you, you seem to have my exact mentality when it comes to vehicles..
Thank you!
