Likewise but no checkering on the front strap is a deal killer, for me. YMMVI really like the looks of the Ruger SR1911 too.

Are Mec-Gar mags good? I found some for $20 each at Gunmag Warehouse.Congrats.
I have been very pleased with Check-mate mags. I prefer the metal followers. Have quite a few, no problems at all. They make Sig's 1911 mags. Ed Brown are good also, but I am not so sure that they aren't just private labeling Check-mate manufactured mags.
Some folks are partial to WC mags.
When I came across this Springfield Ronin Operator it really caught my eye.

Do yourself a favor. Buy Tripp Research Cobra Mags.Springfield Ronin Operator is on the way. Now I need a couple extra mags, it only comes with one.
It’s a bad thing for sure. I bought a nice clean used one about 5 years ago, now I have 5 of them.. so I’m averaging one a year...lolNo!
Don't go down the road of addiction......

Good to know. Looking at WC, they are really pricey but I'll probably get a couple. So many styles to choose from, which is which? They make the OEM mags for many manufacturers including Walther and Beretta. They’re top notch.
But for 1911s I’d go with Wilson Combat all day.
I had one Mec-Gar mag that wouldn’t feed reliably in a Kimber. I gave it to @easy rider because it worked well in his S&W. As far as I know, he’s still using it. I run mostly Kimber mags in all my 1911’s.Are Mec-Gar mags good? I found some for $20 each at Gunmag Warehouse.
