The range officer at the new Shoot Point Blank in San Antonio said their filtration system should be enough to not need a mask. That being said, they are required to wear one. Shooters have the option. I don't wear one when shooting. I'm not overly worried about it, but my wife's immune system is somewhat compromised due to her medications, so I clean up after I leave the house for any reason. Just wondering if anyone has thought about this topic much. The last time I went to Bullethole, a mask was required.

It's not a legitimately airborne virus. It can transmit through particulate, like if someone sneezes near you or spittle flies from their mouth as they talk and makes contact with a membrane like the eye or sinuses. I think contact with people and contact with common items like door handles and such are more likely to transmit, especially if the person isn't particularly inclined to wash their hands often and thoroughly. Most likely case is they come in contact and then inadvertently scratch their nose or eyes or something like that

They don't require shooters to wear masks at Point Blank. Might change as the city's rules change. I'm just moderately worried. I think we probably don't know enough to know what the hell is right and wrong in dealing with this yet.

Just something to consider, the filtration systems move air around more, which can spread droplets further. At the range, people tend to breathe heavier due to elevated heart rates and talk louder and more closely to account for noise. These all increase the chance of greater transmission of the virus. Your best bet of protecting yourself is to go when there are fewer people, maintain your distance from others, and prevent from breathing other people's lung leftovers.

Not quite. See post three above for best response.

    From Harvard's website:

    How does coronavirus spread?
The coronavirus is thought to spread mainly from person to person. This can happen between people who are in close contact with one another. Droplets that are produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes may land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby, or possibly be inhaled into their lungs.

A person infected with coronavirus — even one with no symptoms — may emit aerosols when they talk or breathe. Aerosols are infectious viral particles that can float or drift around in the air for up to three hours. Another person can breathe in these aerosols and become infected with the coronavirus. This is why everyone should cover their nose and mouth when they go out in public.

Coronavirus can also spread from contact with infected surfaces or objects. For example, a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

The virus may be shed in saliva, semen, and feces; whether it is shed in vaginal fluids isn't known. Kissing can transmit the virus. Transmission of the virus through feces, or during vaginal or anal intercourse or oral sex, appears to be extremely unlikely at this time.

I don't know how you got what you stated, out of what had been said.
Nobody said anything about AIDS, except you.

    ZX,

"Nobody said anything about AIDS, except you."

Didn't post anything to the contrary.

Jump down off the high horse old boy.

A sense of humor goes a long way.

Are you particularly sensitive in a pc kinda way about AIDS?

I'm not and if my joking about it pisses you off, ts....

A sense of humor does go a long way.
I made a joke based on the comments made in the article.
You are the one who implied by your inquiry that something else was said.
    I was wondering why.

It's a joke, due to the "kissing' part
As was the "helmet" part, due to the "sex" part. Although, if your bedroom activities include a high level of risk of head injury, you can probably make at least $10 streaming it to the world (send a link).
