Well the heat whooped me pretty good yesterday. Even drinking lots of water, I think I still got somewhat dehydrated. Woke up about 4 am and was hugging the toilet. (I blame the strawberry milkshake and the beer I had for dinner last night for that!) About 6 am, I decided to eat something because I was starving to death. Made some eggs bacon and toast. About 8 am, my stomach rebelled and it wa back to hugging the toilet again. By that time, I had an awful headache and just felt like crap, so I took a couple Advil, crawled back into bed with the A/C cranked up on high. Just woke back up a little while ago. I feel better, but just still tired and thirsty.
I think it was a mild case of heat exhaustion. Probably fixing the broken water line did it. But, I had no choice in getting it fixed. I was drinking lots of water, but I think I was still sweating it out faster than I was replacing it. Once I got back to the house, my clothes were soaking wet.
It's not just the heat, but the high humidity that saps your energy. This is why I say it can still sneak up on you. Y'all be careful out there.
Were you taking in any kind of electrolytes? Water by itself isn't necessarily enough in high humidity.
