Not to rain on the parade, but if you were to throat grab someone for yelling at you or a loved one you would go to jail, not the person doing the yelling. Someone else could even legally shoot you dead if they see you escalate a verbal confrontation to a throat grab. Just something to keep in mind.

A reflexive knee jerk that converted his gonads to a bowtie would have been nice. Honest officer he got in my face and I took a big step back, I didn't mean to hit him.

A fixin' to get interesting. My first thought would be to get between them facing the loudmouth in this case. Ladies don't get treated that way. Basically daring him to touch me cause then the rules change.

To clear things up, where you live is a mask required by law to be in public or was it required by the store or was it even required?

If required by law do you really have a medical reason not to wear a mask or is it philosophical?

If required by the store do they have a medical exemption to allow not wearing a mask? You realize that the no shirts, no shoes trespass signs are legal and if they have posted mask required than your wife could have been asked to leave or worse, they could have called the cops.

The brute your wife ran into was inexcusable in talking to your wife like that. Physical intervention though would not be wise. As a concealed carrier I would always try to de-escalate a verbal argument. Force is a mistake here. Now if the guy pointed an AK at your wife he would be dead.

Obviously you don't believe that a mask could help prevent an infected person from spreading the disease. A different argument.

Required by city EO, if you research.
Thank you, but I was asking the poster if he knew what was required. He is the one that may have to fight the fine for a police department that is aggressively planning on enforcing the law. Does he have doctor's excuses for their "medical exemption" if they have to go to court?

You asked some questions. I answered the first.

To be honest, all it would have taken is one man with a set of balls to say something to the vulgar loudmouth. He was was a coward, hence his berating a woman. I can just about bet it would have gone no further that just having to tell him to back the f**K away and go about his business.

I would have, and have stepped in similar instances. Cowards and bullies are about picking on those they think that are weaker than themselves. They don't like anyone that stands up to them. Many times, their power is about never being challenged, so when someone stands up to them, they are sometimes at a loss as what to do.

Lets just for the sake of conversation say they actually have the authority to fine a person for not wearing a mask. LE isn't going to stand there insulting the woman with vulgar and abusive language. They would simply issue a citation and be about their business.

This jerk had no such authority, and was verbally assaulting a woman with language that was of the most vulgar sort. He didn't have any right to do what he did. IF he thought it was that big an issue, why didn't he inform the store manager who had the authority to cal LE to enforce the mask order. It was never his place to do what he did. He stuck his nose into something that wasn't his business in the first place. He was trying to look like a badass in front of other people.

...WHEN did it become ok to berate and threaten people? ...
It became popular when the hands of law enforcement were tied by leftist politicians who stand with the socialist/leftist/commie criminal spoiled rotten pansy bastards who want to threaten and actually do harm to those of a different political ilk or just to anyone whom they decide they do not like at the moment. That goes for even those on the left like themselves.

It became popular when the intolerance exhibited by liberals began to reach new heights, some years ago.

I should also point out, I wear a mask while out shopping or going into other businesses. If I see someone not wearing a mask, I figure their choice unless they are pretty much coughing and spewing their shit in my face. Should I see some big lummox berating a woman or an elderly person over not wearing a mask and should the person being berated remain courteous there is a good chance I'd step in to shut the fucker up.

Recently, a guy who live across from my apartment complex had been harassing a female tenant at the complex. I was walking by with my dog and as I passed by I overheard her as she was telling a 911 operator about the guy and she mentioned he was there bothering her right then. At first I did not see anyone else except her, so I asked her if she meant me. She pointed to a house across the street where a guy had just come around from the back of a house and as I looked he started screaming and waving something in his hand that I did not quite make out. At first, I don't think he even realized I was there. I turned to face him and took a defensive but aggressive position behind the best cover I could find and told her to get behind me. He immediately backed off and went inside. You should have seen the look on the big bad wolf's face when he realized a Jäger was at hand. What a friggin pussy and I am a 64 year old fart. I waited until the police arrived and several minutes after that. Turns out the guy is a drunk, probably 50ish, and a known (to the police) arsehat who lives with his parents and is known for causing trouble with women. That last according to one of the cops. The lady was happy I stayed, so was I.

I grew up in an age where it was a major sin to be discourteous to women. Often ended up with the snot slapped out of you.

I believe the beginning of the end of chivalry started about the time corporal punishment was banned in schools. Around that time the Women's Liberation Movement started and in their pursuit of equality to men, it evolved into men wondering if it's a crime to open or hold a door for a woman.

Chivalry has been so ingrained into me, that I often get myself into trouble. I once stopped a guy from hitting a woman at a grocery store, and guess who started screaming at me? But you know what? I'll probably find myself in trouble again.

Lotsa questions, sorry, 5-1/2 hr drive from Lubbock.

No law, an order, which GA-29 clearly states there cannot be fines, so, **** Waco mayor or whoever.

H-E-B is not enforcing, they ask, and GA-29 clearly says medical exemption

I do have a medical exemption. I’ve had double pneumonia twice, and pneumonia once. I will not rebreathe my waste. My wife has had pleurisy, and also will not wear one to rebreathe waste.

It was 20 yrs ago at Ninga’s when the Mgr mistook my wife for someone else and started yelling and reached out while walking, and I grabbed both throat and wrist at the same time and almost broke his elbow. So, yeah, there’s that little tidbit, it was preemptive because I’m not waiting for her to be assaulted to react. He shoulda been more patient. LoL, we were banned from Ninfas for quite awhile for that one, who cares. still don’t go there.

What I’m seeing is a bunch of pussies that get real tough when someone else speaks up, and join in like jackals. All of a sudden, she’s at the center of what could be 3,4,6 idiots feeling reallllll tough. She never reacted, she never responded, and she was worried if they were waiting for her outside because she finished her shopping. They yelled at the deli girl and the deli girl informed them H-E-B does not enforce people not wearing a mask and cannot inquire about a persons medical condition.

IDK who said it, but he’s right. I was raised by my granddad and dad women are to be treated with respect, even when they are wrong, and this nonsense today? There is no respect for anything anymore.

mid I saw two people not wearing masks berating a woman for wearing one I would step in on that woman’s behalf. Men should not yell at women they do not know like they wanna start a fight, because they’re gonna find one one day, and they won’t like it when they do.

Ima hang out with my lovely wife and enjoy the evening. I hope you gents do as well. Cheers.

Brings up another question....when you see someone being verbally assaulted like this, what is the proper way to intervene?

Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
Ask if the victim needs help, suggest the bully back off. In HEB ask an employee to get help. Maybe ask the victim if they'd like to come with you to a safe area.

I would probably intervene but we all have to realize intervening could lead to us using our LTC...even if we really, really didn't want to.
