Seen my father got lit up by some ground hornets once when he was sawing down a pine stump. He threw the chainsaw up in the air away from himself and ran. But he still got stung about seven or eight times before he got far enough away from them.
We use to play in a junkyard by the house. They had a few rows of large tractor type tires lined up. One day we were running on top of a row of tires. Apparently there was a wasp/ hornet/ some type of stinging creature nested in one of the tires. It was not my best day. Lol

I saw more gay couples w/in 35 miles of the Houston in less than 5 days, than I see yearly in my area in Cali...
    :)

Wait just a goddâmned minute. This thread is Tell Us Something We Don’t Know.

You really think we don’t know Houston is the East Texas capitol for those who choose to bat for the home team? The real question is the why fûck you chose to go there to begin with.

But then again, what the fûck do any of us know? We just live here.

Used to be my favorite Asian restaurant was in the Montrose area of Houston. A known gay area. So I guess its where you hang, and if seeing a gay couple bothers you enough to remember them. Also enjoyed the old Westhemer Colony Arts Festival. A mostly gay event. But I seldom attended on parade day, we had small children then.

In 1984, the cab of a large Ryder moving truck will hold 2 adults, 7 kids (age range from 13 to 3), and 2 small dogs.

Moving back to upper Michigan from Dallas. Dad driving truck, mom driving station wagon. Station wagon breaks down in St Louis. Dad sells station wagon to junk yard, tells everyone "get in". Next 600 miles as sardines. The space between the bench seat and floor can accommodate a few kids and gets extremely hot.
Moved back to Dallas 5 months later....thankfully not by same means.

If you haven't been stung by a bee in 40+ years, it hurts worse than you remember. A nest in the mailbox and they stung me twice in the same finger.
Last year I got hit by a wasp between the fingers.....I was in the dark......reaching for toilet paper in a port-a-potty. I was up and out of there in 2 seconds. Took me a minute to collect myself, kill the bastard, and clean myself up.

    Today's children can't count to $1.19
Change received to a debit card takes giant bank computers two weeks to post
Today's children also place the $ sign at the wrong end of the number(1.19$)
Hell I see 40 somethings nearly melt down when the bill is $6.19 and I give 'em $11.19.

Been there. Done that. My heart goes out to anyone who shares the experience.

There was that time also, when Dad was brushhogging one of the old pastures and ran over some ground hornets or bees of some sort, knocked the tractor into neutral and bailed, really fast. He didn't get stung that time, but we walked back to the barn, (About a quarter mile away.) got a coffee can full of diesel to douse the nest with.

Guess who got volunteered to do the dousing and running? Your's Truly! Dad said I was younger and faster!

After I doused their nest, about an hour later we were able to get the tractor.

Back in the early 1990's, there use to be some really great restaurants in the Montrose area. Buddies said just don't do any socializing in that area unless I was switch hitter!
