I call it YingYang, nothing special about it. Local bar put it on tap. Locals no go, but on weekends the Austin/Dallas/Houston crowd think it is the thang. I pass on it, too many other better beers around. A good Pale Ale or IPA id my preferred.

It used to be the cheapest beer you could buy when I lived back east. Little flavor, but better than Budweiser.

Coors used to be "forbidden fruit" back east. I had one while hunting in Montana, andI realized it's just Yuengling with a bigger advertising budget..

Finally got to try Yuengling today, I actually just finished my first one. I've wanted some for years, it was like the forbidden fruit that I wanted but couldn't have.

It's alright, it doesn't really have much of a flavor to me. It tastes a little watered down imo. There's zero aftertaste, I like a little aftertaste though. I don't hate it, but IMO, Ziegenbock is better.

Are my taste buds used to substandard beer, is Yuengling truly the nectar of the Gods, or is it a bunch of hype? What do y'all think it?
Sort of like Coors many years ago when it was not widely available.
My best friends dad would bring a few cases home whenever he would travel through Colorado.
I was just as unimpressed with Coors as I am with Yuegling.
Not bad, but would not go out of my way to have one.

Its a nice, easy drinking beer that even non beer lovers will drink without making a face. Had some at brass tap on draft and it was smooth, non bitter, very drinkable. No, its not the greatest, but you can drink a few of them and not be immediately sick of them like some other craft beers.

But as others said, its very generic, overhyped, but reasonably priced at $1 per bottle. Not bad and its sold everywhere now, but nothing to write home about.

It is a lager, a light, mild lager! No more, no less. In this age, when seriously hopped ales are the trend, lagers get no respect. It's a fair to middlin lager, jusst like Coors, Budweiser, Pabst Blue Ribbon. It's an American lager, so it's meh!

You've got Shiner Bock and Lone Star. Why can't you just be happy?
In answer to your question: Because he has Shiner Bock and Lone Star is why he can't be happy. They are as bad as Spoors and Budwiper. There are several beers & ales to try among the Yuengling line-up.

The only claim to fame for Yuengling is it’s the oldest
    continuously operated brewery in America.
Is that their only claim to fame, I guess you did not read the news when they endorsed Trump. More along the lines of their fame as a brewery though are these facts that I'd think anyone would agree are pretty amazing and fame inspiring: They were the largest craft brewery in the USA, by volume of sales, in 2018. Being the largest craft brewer by volume speaks volumes about their fame and show lots of folks buy and drink their beer though maybe not so many libtards ever since they endorsed Trump. That fame would be so even if you do not consider them being the 6th largest brewery, over all in sales, within the U.S. in 2018 or that they are the largest FULLY AMERICAN OWNED brewery in the country:usflag::

    D. G. Yuengling & Son (/ˈjɪŋlɪŋ/ ( About this sound listen) YING-ling)[1] is the oldest operating brewing company in America, established in 1829. In 2018, by volume of sales, it was the largest craft brewery, sixth largest overall brewery and largest wholly American-owned brewery in the United States. (source)
