"My Favorite Things" is not Christmas music at all.
Radio stations play this stupid thing a lot during this time of the year. I have to change the station or shut the radio off even.
We had to sing this stupid Favorite Things thing when I was in the 5th grade around the holidays season along with Put Your Hand in the Hand of the Man and Let There Be Peace on Earth. And that was way back in 1974. We had more traditional Christmas stuff in school the year before that like Little Drummer Boy, Joy to the World, Silent Night and Do You Hear What I Hear? It was a public school, so they threw in a Jewish holiday song or two as well. The parts about girls in white dresses, biting dogs and stinging bees in Favorite Things made me feel totally ill.
A few songs I really get a kick out of is The 12 Pains of Christmas by Bobby Rivers, 12 Gifts of Christmas by Allen Sherman and the Jingle Bells barking dogs song.
IF YOU'RE SO SMART, YOU RIG UP THE LIGHTS!! ( voice of grumpy old man)
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a Japanese transistor radio. It's a Nakahoma (knock a home-uh) model to listen to your favorite baseball games. 9 Volt battery not included
