Stainless stick is a carcinogen for people these days, so glad I'm grandfathered in. My students need to learn to crawl before running a marathon.
You tell them..."Get their lazy azzez on the BALL!"

"This ain't no SUMMER picnic, Aunt Emma!"

Speaking of pronouns, I heard this story on the way home from work Friday. I am guessing that many of you have seen it, but I did not see a thread, so I did not start one.

This stupidity needs to sop. Immediately.
    Oh! PHUKTARDIA!

4 wide racing - I just recently started seeing it regularly on TV. Excluding Juniors, I have these questions.

    1. Why only 1/8th mile?
    2. Are all 4W classes 1/8th?
    3. Is paired racing on it's way out?
    4. Is all electric racing coming? Date?
    5. Is IC vs EV a possibility?

    Thanks, Coiled

I sent the NHRA that email @2weeks ago and they haven't replied, which one of us gonna go kick their ass?
    I nominate you.
    Hey Coiled,

Ever since young Scott Kalitta perished at Englishtown, there has been a push for the FUEL classes to go to the 1/8th mile...

They were at 1,000ft, after Scott Kalitta's death.

It is about SAFETY! The FUEL CARS are turning in excess of 290mph in the 1/8th mile!

Many of the older tracks simply do not have the length of track to allow for a shut down...in the event of the parachutes not working.

Also? Most of the DAMAGE occurs after the 1/8th mile mark (in almost all the PRO Classes)

I am sure that the FUEL classes will be able to exceed 300mph in the 1/8th mile...once they are no longer concerned about making it to 1,000 feet!

In the 1,000 feet events, most of the FUEL CARS (Top Fuel & Funny Car) were doing 100mph in the first 60 FEET!

Get that up to 105mph? 107mph? 300mph+ in the 1/8th is entirely possible!

In my life time? I've (and most of us here) seen TOP FUEL go from the mid "7's" to the "3's"!! Even the FUNNY CARS are in the "3's"!!

Pro Stock is turning in the "6's" ...........with NATURALLY ASPIRATED GASOLINE ENGINES!

The "cars" are just so much QUICKER!

    Hope this helps...

Finally!!! After weeks of hunting / stalking and moving a gamecam too many times to try and figure out how a 'coon keeps accessing my attic, I got that SOB with 1 shot.

My Glock 21 did the work; Bay City types will be confounded.

Taking a page from Ben's *screw it, I may have failed but at least I'm honest* book . . . that damn 'coon is still haunting me!

Seconds after that shot I lit the 'coon up under a neighbors shrubs 70' away. Clearly looking at me / around, I figured he was in shock and dying; not so. He spends all day in the attic below a metal roof w/o insulation. Leaves the attic 8-11p and returns 3-6a.
