Of course this happens again. We can put armed security in banks/money trucks, but can’t put them in front of schools. Shake my damn head.
Train the retired community and have them stand armed watch. Many won’t need much training. Were I retired, I’d volunteer in a minute. Wouldn’t cost the school districts much at all

This is not a gun problem, it's a problem with how kids are raised.
Shit like this never happened years ago. Society is devolving and it's only going to get worse until kids are taught values and life purpose once again. Liberal thinking is what is killing people.
You know that and I know that, but since when do politicians ever let a crisis go to waste?

I've not read all eight pages but I believe staff should be able to be armed if they so chose and can be legally armed and entrances to the school should be monitored by armed individuals. I am a former teacher and administrator in the local schools here. They are wide open all day long. Some staff would certainly volunteer and if that's not enough, local police should be utilized to guard our children. It's a shame this would have to be done, but it sure looks like it's necessary. If I was still employed in the school system as an administrator or teacher, I'd be armed (if allowed) to carry on campus. It may not solve the overall problem but at least it could have some impact on this kind of stuff.

    I don't remember having a fortress for a school when I was a kid.

As if that would matter... we've been there, done that each time, nobody on the anti side listens. Nor cares cuz it doesn't promulgate the agenda.
I disagree. Nobody every actually loudly goes on TV and says that the problem is fundamentally the teaching in the public schools and the lack of a fear of God - or consequences. In my opinion, the very schools, are reaping the effects of what they are sowing in the kids.

I agree, the schools are the damn future of our nation.

That’s what communists say. That’s why they want to own the school boards.

The future of our nation is people who care more about it than about politics. The future of nation is Americans that know, despite all our failings, we are a people who know we can overcome them, making not just America, but the world a better place.

The grabbers will go hard on this -
It only took 5 or so hours...

Earlier today, a gunman shot and killed 14 children and one teacher and wounded several more at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Once again, gun violence has forced its way into our schools, leaving nothing but devastation, trauma, and tragedy in its wake.

If you work in emergency services, it’s obvious that crazy people have become crazier since the start of COVID and that there are more of them than ever. Local LEO’s have had what would have previously been ten years worth of shooting incidents in the last 24 months. We used to have 3 or 4 suicides per year and now it’s a monthly occurrence.

Buckle up because it’s going to be a crazy ride.

That's because the Left has made every person with any sort of fetish, fixation, obsession, compulsion, mania, weakness, fascination, craze, fad and hang-up to feel they are entitled to act out according to their "thing" and be heard no matter what. Of course it's all by design and simply a power grab by the Left to hold power by breaking down traditional institutions like family and such.

OK, so we're all filling out our "Democrat Gun-Control Totalitarian Bingo" cards. But let's get out our "Getting So Tired Of People Like This Murdering Innocents" Bingo cards.

We've already marked the square for "Started his day by murdering parent/grandparent/neighbor". Let's see if we learn that he...

1 - "...was known to authorities"

    2- "...was on behavior-modifying meds"

3- "...did not surprise any of his friends/acquaintances/classmates by doing this"

4- "...was a fan of (insert Democrat politician here)"

5- "...had a manifesto or series of online rants that clearly showed intent days ago"

6- "...should have been flagged in NICS but wasn't"

7- "...had a violent criminal record already (extra square if it was a violent juvenile record that was sealed)"

8- "...was reported to authorities multiple times by family members in a desperate bid to get him off the streets and into some kind of mental health treatment, but were rebuffed because the authorities can't do anything until a crime is committed"

9- "...was involved in organized crime/gang activity (bonus square if it's MS-13)"

    and everyone's favorite...

10- "...was in the country illegally"

Anyone else think we can match four more squares to the one we already have?

This shit has gotten so damn old. It's always a variation on the same story. And the reaction from the left is always "blame the gun".
