Did you listen to the whole thing? I respected the fact that he called out the politicians for vilifying each other instead of working together on issues. There were some things I disagreed (and some that just made me roll my eyes and shake my head) but overall not bad.
Yeah, so his problem is that he wants them all to support gun control.

I always said he was a closet libtard. People kept calling me crazy and stupid. Well, how do they feel now about him?
    Three observations after his speech:
    1. Instead of telling politicians to "work together", he could have simply said "right-wing politicians, please be even more lazy than you are now and please allow the left-wing oppressive socialists to destroy our constitution".
    2. He lied that he was "not" pro gun control and then he immediately expressed that gun control should be enacted (not in those words).
    3. He would make a great spokes person for the left, he lies very smoothly and eloquently and does not sound 2-y/o dumb like our current Joke-in-Chief.

Sorry, but hard for me to respect, much less support, someone that wants to infringe upon our Constitutional rights.

I'm always amazed that people listen to entertainers for advice on anything important. It's nuts. They are here to entertain for money. Like a stripper. Do you take advice e from a stripper?

Some people associate intelligence or knowledge with popularity or being a celebrity.

Those guns didn’t shoot themselves. But guns are the problem.

You know, it’s pretty goddammned hard to get 20 minutes of speaking time from the White House Press Room podium if you’re not the President or the WH Press Secretary.

Make no mistake he was up there specifically to influence achieving the administration’s priorities on gun control. The same administration that wanted David Chipman to head the ATF, that will soon be requiring a serial number on just about every part of a firearm, and actively states citizens have no unalienable right to keep and bear arms. The same administration that has also said gun crime is Chicago is a right wing disinformation campaign.

The Lincoln Lawyer was up there emotionally pleading to the entire audience to sell your 2A rights down the river. Yeah, not bad. Not bad at all.

Thanks, but no thanks, I already gave at the office, and the check’s in the mail. It pains me to no end, but make no mistake, this administration hates Americans and America. This administration WANTS to divide the public so it can conquer and achieve policy goals. Goals that are only very small fractions of the public really support.

I've known strippers that are a whole lot smarter than any celebrity or politician. In fact, they were only stripping to help pay their way through nursing school.....

I will take your word for it. I have never known any strippers. I assume all of them say they are going to be nurses, doctors, lawyers, etc. I doubt many of them admit they just dance for money with no goals in life other than get high and filled with jizz.

I played this video on how to identify propaganda to my children:

Then I had them watch Matt’s “passionate” speech.

They had fun listening and identifying all the different propaganda techniques used in the first three minutes of his speech. There was nearly one technique per sentence. There was even a nested propaganda technique.

    In the first three minutes:

Glittering generalities - “this time is different - unique window of opportunity to move forward@

The Testimonial - the entire speech by a celebrity.

Transfer- popular actor from the same city

Plain folks - bodyguard protected Matt pretends to be just like us because he shot BBs and 410s as a kid in Uvalde. His instinct was to drive to his hometown for ???. Normal people don’t go to the scene of a tragedy if they possess no special skills to help. His special skill would be attracting the media and making it about HIM.

Bandwagon - disarming law abiding citizens is such a good idea even Republicans in Washington D.C. want it.

Call to duty - disarm for the greater good of making children safer

False analogy - disarming law abiding citizens is the path forward to making America safer.

Euphemism - “Responsible parties” (tyrants in violation of their oath to the constitution) in this debate are sitting down to debate a path forward.

Either/or fallacy - You either want to disarm law abiding citizens or you want more horribly mutilated dead kids in school (as opposed to in utero).

Faulty cause and effect - Only guns are discussed and not SSRIs or the unstable missing or absentee parents that most shooters have in common, or putting away mental people so they don’t mingle with innocents they can harm. This will somehow make America safer.

I understand the graphic description of these murdered innocent children and their aspirations as well as the “green converse shoes” were later used as an appeal to emotion, so that law abiding citizens, not protected like celebrities and politicians, can give up one of the few defensive tools they can possess.

    Matt can suck my culo.
