You gotta take the air cleaner completely out and it's still virtually impossible..hand and wrist all scraped to hell..and the passenger side is worse..have to loosen the ECM from its mount. You can't really see anything it's done by feel.

Last year I observed as a grandson attempted to replace his headlight in his Lexus. His degree didn't prepare him for this task! He didn't need any help but ended up paying to have it completed.

In the past, I’ve enlisted my bride for some of that work. Around here we call her Squirrel Paws. She fished a bolt out of the front end of an old Porsche that I’d been wrestling with for 45 minutes. Took her literally 15 seconds. When she handed it to me I was actually pissed off at her. 6 year old kids work too.

Read your title then 2016 jeep. Didn't need to read any more...It's like this with most new stuff. Someday we will have to drop the bumper and remove the radio to replace a battery.

Coworker had to pay the dealer ~$500 to get the headlight bulb replaced on her Traverse. Engineer husband couldn’t do it because the front bumper had to be removed to access the back of the housing. She ended up having them all replaced while they had the bumper off because it was just a few bucks more to have them all replaced. Same deal on the neighbor‘s Caddy

Did them on my wife's grand cherokee. It's a pain but nowhere near the worst. I'll give that honor to GM. Every car and suv has to have the front bumper removed as someone else mentioned. Welcome to modern cars where we want everything crammed into an aerodynamic front end. It is what it is.

I had a GMC truck one time that had a headlight go out. I stopped in a dealership and they said that they would replace it for free. Turned out that the entire grill and most of the front end had to be removed. Evidently the guys that volunteered to change the bulb were not aware of the amount of work involved. Six hours later I was back on the road.

I was kind of kidding but even back in the early 2000's some rigs needed the bumper dropped to do things.

Pontiac had a sunbird or sunfire years ago that to change the two back spark plugs on the V8, it was necessary to pull the engine. This usually happened once and then the firewall was modified.

My Niece had a newer VW beetle and needed a bulb replaced the dealer charged $240 fixture and $400 labor. She thought it was high so about a week later she text me and told me the story. She sold the car that week.
