Good question. And the man with the gun lowered it instead of shooting the attacker and I use this word loosely not knowing why the confrontation took place.

Couple of points:
Best course of action, don't get into arguments in parking lots over bullshit in the first place.

Don't pull a gun to try and gain the upper hand in a fist fight or scuffle.

If you pull a gun, be ready to use it and you better be in the right if you do use it.
