And it also makes a classic more affordable...

I’ve been tempted to find a donor VIN in a junkyard, and use that to paste onto a new chassis

    And body

Crate motor, trans, and finishing off should be all in for well under $100K. Even farming out the paint.

Y'know, if I had massive amounts of "disposable" money, I'd be very tempted to track down a customized Australian 1976 Ford Falcon XB GT Hardtop...

THE MAD MAX INTERCEPTORA VERY COOLCAR!THE BLOWER SETUP WAS PRETTY COOL BUT WOULD NEVER WORK IN REALITY!

It was a fake blower in Mad Max...but in The Road Warrior (AKA Mad Max II everywhere else in the world) George Miller insisted that the blower be functional. Apparently the two huge gas tanks in the trunk in that movie were functional and necessary because of the sheer amount of gas it gulped down while producing 600 horsepower.

I ran across this article while looking for good pics tonight that goes through the history of the Interceptors...and the fact that the base car has become nearly impossible to find for sale anywhere. It also details the builds for each version of the car - from the nonfunctional blower to the 600 HP monster, and then the one they had to build from the ground up for "Fury Road".

If you could buy a nice Classic car next week what would you get?
I would get a 1972 ish De Tomaso Pantera thats been done up a bit.
I'd like a'72 Pantera RSR with the 351 Clevland swapped out for a 351 Windsor with eagle heads and fuel injection. I've had Sunbeam Tigers and AMXs. PAX

I already did it. Keep in mind I've never been a car guy or super fancy so there's that.

I'd rather bounce around on a back road and throw some meat on a campfire than have a waiter in a tie and valet parking.

'77 Ford F100 sitting on 37" Humvee tires. Still working on specs as I just don't know much about that era. Had to jump on the deal. Worry about the details later kind of thing.
