Oh hell - since the thread has degraded into silliness...
As the king of the mancave, I'll pick and choose the "talent" for our stripper pole.
I promise, that if elected, I'll have every member get at least two chicks on the stripper pole that look like this:

Really as far as features on this forum, I say keep it the same, most people like the ease of navigation through this forum, I know I do. As for getting more new blood in here to ease back in to being more humorous with one another, I say SHOOT with some of these guys from time to time, today was an Awesome Example at the Bullethole here in SA. I used to host range days at the Bullethole every two weeks on a Sunday and had taken the last two times off to deal with work and other issues, today we had 5 TGTers gather today and I feel like I made some great new friends.

There's also the gatherings that we have at the Local SAXET Gun shows, meeting Mike and Skip there just proved it to me time and time again, while we all come from different walks of life, we have a serious liking to Guns and each and everyone is funny in their own crazy way.

While I have +1 the Boats and Hos proposal, I must also say - MORE GATHERINGS!!!

We'll keep going to the Bullethole every two weeks on a Sunday and after today, we're now at the point where we may have to get two private bays.

I enjoy being on this forum, and it has been an honor to hang out with each and everyone I have met on here . . .

See yall at the Range Bros !!!

Quit using my wife's picture. Hey how about a gun a month raffle. Dollar a chance limited to one chance a member? I am sure we'd gain even more members. Since I came up with the idea then I automatically with the first months raffle.

awesome super 256 encrypted email to replace PMs for gun deals.

    no, seriously.

logs deleted every 24 hours, no records kept etc.

everything that is stored is encrypted to the point that a brute force attack would take all of Ft Meade's processing power 4 years to crack.

for those of you that value security for such important transactions, it would be nice.

also, hushmail is anything but reliable.

I'm really shocked that you would expect a serious answer from this group!

I haven't spent a lot of time concentrating on it, but during the last few moments I haven't been able to think of anything that would really make a huge difference.

I like the idea of this... Lots of people already do the "+1" thing or the "thanks for the comment" but this would make it easier to do such a response and possibly keep threads shorter...

I like the idea and have seen it on other forums, but I don't think we could handle it here. We are too immature, and we would just abuse it.

    Thanks, BTW.

We use this feature on Toyota Nation (and believe me, a lot of our Camry and Corolla forum members are pretty immature), yet we have not had any abuse problems. I like it because it's a good indicator too of who is helpful around the forums. I suppose TGT could give it a whirl, and if the feature ended up being too abused it could be removed. Just spitballing on the idea....

You should send all forum supporters sheets of foil with "TGT" stamped on them, and hat making instructions.

That way we can think of ways to bring it to the "next level" without all this silly mind control derailing us.

I have lurked for a while and occasionally post, I guess I need to post more if I want to win a raffle.....

I think the area get togethers are a great way to grow a forum. Whether it be at range days, or a regular dinner in an area. This allows the current members to get to know each other in person (sometimes sarcasm and inflection are not obvious online, so it is helpful if you know the person's personality to help with understanding a person's post). It also give the opportunity for members to bring friends by and allows others to see the group and become familiar with it.

On one of the motorcycle boards I am on, they have TNDRs (Thursday Night Dinner Rides) and SaMR (Saturday Morning Rides) and SMRs (Sunday Morning Rides). All of them started off as actual rides where they would meet somewhere and ride together to a location to eat and get to know one another. Now, the TNDRs are more like TNDs because when people get off work, they head out to whatever the location chose that week is in whatever they are in...cars, bikes, etc. No ride involved, just meet, greet and eat.

The weekends typically are still rides that leave in the morning from a preselected location, ride a preselected route (typically) and end up somewhere for lunch, then ride back to the starting point to split and head back home.

Another thing that is done as needed (~monthly) is tech days. These are days when, if you are having an issue or need to work on your bike, you show up at the selected person's garage and people bring their knowledge, specialty tools, parts, etc. to help one another out. Might have 3 or 4 bikes getting worked on but 10-15 people show up to help. Afterwards, order pizza have a cool refreshing drink and bs for a while. This could probably translate over to the firearms arena as well. Have a gunsmithing day somewhere.....

I wouldn't do much of anything to TGT. We've got a great community here and I love the forum culture. Got a nice combination of young guys and old guys and the old guys are cool as hell, us young guys can learn a lot from them. ;)

    There. I said it.
did someone else feel the shake and crackle of the very ground we stand upon?????????
