You forgot...The standard socialist response to abject failure of the socialist system is to 1) invent an internal enemy to blame everything on then persecute and eradicate 2) blame the great evil capitalist boogeyman the United States and proclaim every problem caused to socialism's shortcomings to be part of an evil plot by the Americans to destabilize and take over the country, and 3) find someone to invade, preferably a smaller and weaker country that can't put up much resistance.
