I'm a dirt bike guy, but like the dual sport aspect as well. I don't currently have one, but have had a KDX200 that was amazing in the trails. I'll likely pick up a KDX 220 in the next couple of years. I've been staring at this one over on Marketplace.

My fav is the one I still have. Bought it in 92.

    Honda XR250L.

I could ride it to the MX track. Take off my mirrors and run their course. I had so much fun on that bike. And I ride it all over town.

Not the raw speed of the 2 strokes, but it had power. Of course I was much lighter back then.

I have had big bikes over the years, and still do have a couple that I still ride, but this is more my speed. Small bore dual sports. So slow, yet so much fun. I’ve have several over the years, ‘83 XT125, ‘83 XT200, ‘92 & ‘02 KLR250 and my current dually a ‘15 XT250. My favorite of the current

There’s no way you aren’t going to be seen by the cagers with that rig! Stunning, especially with the matched trailer. Nice looking rig
Believe it or not, the first one I had was a twin to this one and it was totaled when a Ford Focus tried to park in my tail pipes.

I loved my 2005 Honda CBR1000RR Repsol, but I knew it would eventually kill me so I sold it...

My 1991 had to be my favorite motorcycle owned, I rode that thing all over the East Coast, Texas and Western and Central Europe!

Prior to the ST, I had a VF700S Sabre similar to the one below. I guess I have "a thing" for V4 motors!

The bikes I always wanted to ride are the RC30, RC45, and the oval-pistoned NSR750 which I've seen in person in Switzerland but never rode...

These days, this would be more my speed (not mine, just saw it one day)...

BTW, the OP’s favorite was a 1984 Honda 700 Nighthawk, which was my first street bike. Fond memories, but far from my favorite.
It wasn't my first bike nor my last but I also had a 1984 Nighthawk S, but mine was blue. I only paid $500 for it used because previous owner spun a main bearing. I overhauled and rebuilt the motor then got a lot of enjoyment out of it... Surprised I didn't kill myself with it.

Now all the sudden I'm reminded of the 3 mini bikes which started my obsession as a kid.
    Countless hours of fun.

First was a Sears tube frame.
Then a Honda mini trail 50.
Lastly the Yamaha mini enduro 60, first one with a clutch.

I am envious, the RC30 is a legend!
Bought it new in 1991 at dealer cost ($12,500). Adjusted for inflation that’s over $28K now - the MSRP was 15k and that adjusts to $35.5. I meant to keep the miles low but you can imagine how that went. Just under 50K miles on it, including track days. I had a custom car guy repaint the bodywork a few years ago and the wheels need paint next.
