I was doing some browsing regarding Gunsmoke Guns, and apparently, this guy Rich Wyatt is a total douche. I don't know him of course, and only have watched the first episode, but there are alot of people out there who just will not do business with him, nor recommend his business to anyone.
Gunsmoke... - Colorado AR-15 Shooters Club Discussion Forumsnd apparently he did have some trouble with the courts awhile back as well.....
This one's got everything - sex, guns and politics! :D

Past sheriff candidate faces jail sentence

    By Jonathan Ellis

A former candidate for Jefferson County sheriff faces six months in jail after a judge found him in contempt of court on Friday.

Rich Wyatt, a Wheat Ridge gun dealer who unsuccessfully ran for sheriff in 2002, has three months to pay his ex-wife nearly $90,000. Judge Chris Voisinet also ordered him to turn over two guns to the woman. Wyatt has three months to meet those obligations or spend six months in the county jail.

It could have been worse for Wyatt. George Johnson, his ex-wife's attorney, sought a second contempt charge related to 100 nude photographs of the ex, Rebecca Wyatt. Johnson argued that Wyatt had not returned all of the photographs despite a court order to do so. The photographs that Wyatt did turn over were scrawled with lewd comments.

Wyatt argued he did return all the pictures, which he called "pornographic nude photos."

Wyatt has been one of the more colorful politicians on the local scene. In 2002 he bought an ad in Soldier of Fortune magazine offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who killed Osama bin Laden with one of his rifles. His website, www.gunsmoke

guns.com, features pictures of him with George W. Bush, John Elway and other celebrities.

Wyatt also favored loosening restrictions on concealed-carry laws, arguing that law-abiding citizens have the right to carry handguns virtually anywhere. Wyatt's Gunsmoke Gunsmithing store in Wheat Ridge offers training classes and African safaris.

In July 2002, a county judge ordered Wyatt to pay Rebecca Wyatt $4,100 a month. Wyatt was awarded two properties in Wheat Ridge during the divorce hearing.

However, Wyatt failed to make payments to Rebecca Wyatt. He told Voisinet on Friday that he didn't earn enough money to meet the $4,100 obligation.

"I'm not going to pay," he said. "There's no way. I don't have the money now, I didn't have it then."

Johnson countered that Wyatt had plenty of equity in the two Wheat Ridge properties to pay Rebecca Wyatt. He also produced bank statements from Wyatt's business showing he had more than enough money.

Wyatt and his attorney, David Gloss, argued that Wyatt's personal account and his business account were separate entities.

He also refused to hand over the two firearms to Rebecca Wyatt, saying he would violate federal law if he does. Wyatt said his ex-wife isn't eligible to own firearms under federal law and that his firearms' license would be in jeopardy if he gave her the guns.

Wyatt argued that Johnson and Rebecca Wyatt wanted to put him in jail to ruin his political career. Wyatt said Friday that he plans to run for sheriff again.

Friday's hearing was marked by bitterness between Wyatt and Johnson. Wyatt accused Johnson of throwing some of the nude photos in a court trashcan, and he demanded that Voisinet have Johnson arrested.

"I want him arrested for destruction of evidence," he told Voisinet.

Johnson called Wyatt a "scofflaw," and accused him of hiding his money with a fraudulent accounting system.

"He's a very, very aggressive, dishonest man," Johnson said.

In the end, Voisinet agreed with Johnson. He gave Wyatt three months to sell one of his properties to pay Rebecca Wyatt or go to jail.

"I'm going to give you an opportunity to get yourself out of this mess," Voisinet told Wyatt.

But when Voisinet told Wyatt to also turn over the firearms to Rebecca Wyatt by Jan. 22, 2005, Wyatt said he wouldn't and he stormed out of the courtroom.

Former sheriff's candidate being held in jail

    by Jonathan Ellis

GOLDEN— A former candidate for Jefferson County sheriff is now a resident in the county jail.

Rich Wyatt was arrested Feb. 2 by the county's fugitive team in Wheat Ridge after he failed to comply with a judge's orders in a divorce case. The arrest occurred without incident in Wyatt's gun store.

"As I understand it, he was very cooperative," Sheriff Ted Mink said.

Wyatt's stay in the jail - compliments of county taxpayers - could extend to six months after he failed to pay his ex-wife $90,000 that he owed her from a divorce settlement. A judge also ordered him to give the ex-wife, Rebecca Wyatt, two expensive firearms, but Wyatt also refused that order.

Wyatt could be released in fewer than six months if he behaves.

"He can't get out on bail," sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Tallman said. "But he might get good time. It's up to the sheriff's office. It's based on his behavior and other indicators."

George Johnson, Rebecca Wyatt's attorney, said Wyatt can leave jail early if he pays the money and returns the firearms.

"Any time he pays up, he's released," Johnson said. "If he doesn't pay up he still has to do the six months."

Wyatt still must pay the money even if he completes the six months, or he could face another jail sentence, Johnson said.

Wyatt was one of several Republicans who ran to replace Sheriff John Stone in 2002. He finished second in votes at the county assembly, but failed to garner enough support to advance to the primary.

He later filed a lawsuit in an attempt to derail Russ Cook's candidacy. The lawsuit was dismissed and Cook went on to win the office.

Wyatt told the Courier last year that he intends to run for sheriff again.

Wyatt, 41, is also a handgun instructor and firearms dealer. As a candidate, he favored permissive laws for concealed weapon permits.

In 2002, Wyatt bought an ad in Soldier of Fortune magazine offering a $100,000 reward to anybody who killed Osama bin Laden with one of his rifles.

Wyatt argued in court last year that he didn't have enough money to pay Rebecca Wyatt $90,000.

But a judge disagreed, saying Wyatt could access money from some of the property he owned to pay the debt. The judge gave Wyatt until the end of January to make good on the amount.

Wyatt's divorce hearings were anything but ordinary. He was ordered to turn over about 100 nude photographs of Rebecca Wyatt. When he did, some of the photographs were marked with lewd comments or torn.

Wyatt also demanded that Johnson be arrested for destroying evidence. Wyatt said Johnson destroyed evidence when he threw away pieces of some of the torn photographs in a court trash can.

Authorities declined to pursue charges against Johnson

Yeah, but even as much editing as was done his douchebaggery still managed to seep through a little.

And I agree to the above statements about the rear shot of the girl when she was going for her dog. Then again the dad could have told them to do that because he already whored her out during a bikefest in slutty shorts to make the almighty dollar.

Just re-watched the episode, and of course..as with all reality shows..anyone with common sense can tell its scripted.

Ok..so basically...according to what the show now shows EVERYONE IN AMERICA that is actually watching this show. that and all and any criminal now knows that EXACTLY where the "hidden safe" is located at within the "PITCOCK RANCH" and that it holds all of these oh so valuable guns.

WOW.. of course, I don't actually believe any of this crap, and even if it was true I doubt anyone would be be dumb enough to try, little on figure out the combination to the safe, but it makes you think. Why hide a safe behind a secret book, only to tell the world where it is?

I am sorry, but "Sons of Guns" seems just a little more real to me, even though it is apparently "scripted for viewership" also.

I so far cannot stand this show, nor can I stand this dude Rich Wyatt. The scene with him packing all the money into a duffel bag with all of those guns so arrogantly and irresponsibly spread across his desk with money everywhere really turns me off to the show also...Just my 0.02

Cause the old man is showing off. There is no Pitcock Ranch and that collection of guns sucked for the amount of drama.

    Helotes!
I watched the first episode, and won't make that mistake again.

Whoring out your 16-yr-old daughter, obviously fake cans on the middle-aged wife (to distract from that face, I like how much it is airbrushed in the pics posted!). Being a real tool when buying guns from someone. It's all crap, about the only person on the show that is remotely likeable is the son and even he has a script to follow.

I'd stick with Tales of the Gun as the only gun-related show worth watching! Any series that includes interviews with Ian Hogg is OK by me!

    Cheers! M2

There is a Pitcock Ranch in Texas, and he was talking to the rancher about being from Texas. I wonder if they just lied about it being in Golden Colorado just to deter possible gun thieves from his real "collection". I mean, Colorado is closer to Texas than you'd think. The only thing separating Texas from Colorado is Oklahoma's dick, and Oklahoma has a very small dick.

I agree. I thought the Colleen toon sucked and did not rate a jet ranger ride.

I also thought that showing the Safe room was really sketchy. Basically it's hollywood and that was a set and actor.

I thought the exact same thing. WTF... I try not to judge a show based on first episode, but it does look pretty terrible. I enjoyed watching the part where they were making the new mini revolver, but that was barely featured. We all seem to love talking about it, tho.

    Best quote ever!

This was the one of the stupidest things i saw. He packed what looked like 100K-150K in his bag to only spend 20K and dumb coin. This show couldn't get any gayer. But wait, it can. Stay tuned to the next episode.

I know, gayer probaly isn't a word, but you know what I meant.

Can't forget the "You have 10 seconds to pick up the (rip off) money and 10oz Silver or I walk". I would have said, SEE YA! $20k gun for $10 so he can probably try and sell it for $25k. Fu*k that!

Saw last night's show, and the previous one, still not in to it. The whole family is really annoying.

But I guess, at least he didn't say "see this Colt? we're going to make 4 of them spin on a turret..."

If I am selling guns and my asking price was $20K on a BAR (or any other firearm), and someone offered me $5K, I would tell them to GTFO my property.
