    3. Buys a transferable b.a.r. Machinegun worth $25k for 10k and 10oz silver. Takes bar home on the jet ranger sans paperwork.
    .

They take them home with them without paperwork under the guise of "gunsmithing." I know many dealers who buy large collections do this.

I think this was good. I'm not 100% he needs to make everything from scratch. But hey, $10k for a one off engraved colt is a great deal.

I bet that guy went back to see how much 10oz of silver was worth and was not pleasantly surprised. If it was 100oz It'd be closer to what he should have gotten.

I really loved the use of survey flags as empty chamber indicators. Gotta love putting rusty steel wire in the actions.

In their defense, it was probably some TV guy freaked out about safety and they used what ever they had laying around.

Too dang scripted, even the mistake I felt was set up.

He acted like that 10oz bar of Silver was something special. Only $300+/- to sweeten a 10K pot, lol, that's only about a 3% bump when the guy was asking for a 50% increase in his offer. Dude probably spent more on the ride out and back than that.

But hey, $10k for a one off engraved colt is a great deal.

NO, $10K for a one off engraved Gunsmoke copy of a Colt SSA."

edited to ask, What is the deal with the son calling Renee "Mom", Discovery Channel's bio says that he is her son. Some of Rich's legal troubles were from 2002 (9 years ago) with his ex-wife Rebecca, of porno picture and $90,000 money owed fame. That would lead me to think that the 21 year old son, and 17 year old daughter are hers, and not the current wife's. I could see the new wife adopting the kids, but I just don't see a teenager starting to call his dad's new wife mom.

I really love seeing things made from scratch, but that one is kinda pointless. You can get good Colt clones for $4-500. Not sure how much engraving costs, but probably not more than $200 or so.

Its probably just for TV. They are trying to portray a nice American family owned business. When in reality there is a little dark side to this Rich guy. The daughter though looks similar to the "new" mom with those giraffe neck's! DAYUM!

You saying that might be why he and previous wife got divorced? Inquiring minds want to know if having a couple of kids with the then "other woman" might have lead to a break up.

(Not implying I have any basis of truth to that statement, but it would definitely be a source of juicy drama if it comes out later, when the show needs a boost in ratings.)

One more thing to their credit. I did like the fact that the firing pin was on the hammer, not using a transfer bar system that has gotten so popular. Yes, I know it's a lot easier to make, and you can't carry a full 6 round load in them and stay safe in the that way, but I liked it.

Yall are getting too worked up over a "reality" show. It is scripted etc. I find it entertaining because of that just like american chopper, sons of guns, pawn stars and so forth. If I want to watch a real gun show Ill pop in my tales of the gun series or some military history dvd.
Plus riding in a helicopter is all for show.

*throws down 10 oz. of silver* How about that!.. epic.

Unfortunately, being stuck in a hotel meant I didn't have many options, so I watched the second episode last night. I've got a few suggestions for making this a halfway decent show.

First, ditch the pinhead father whose ripping everyone off when he buys guns from them, the bimbo mother who is annoying as hell to listen to bitching about money when she's wearing a couple thousand dollars' worth of fake cans, the twinkie jail bait daughter being whored out for the sake of the show and let the teenage son who seems to be halfway genuine and the old guy gunsmith and let them be the focus of the show!

Otherwise, it's about as bad as watching something with the Kardashians (however you spell that) in it!

    Cheers! M2

I just couldn't believe how the soundtrack was almost the same as Sons of Guns. The wife clearly has fake cans and I think shes fugly. The daughter is annoying and the son is a D-bag...

I won't be watching this one..

Anyone keeping up with this? Great\funny stuff.

Husband fighting with wife over painting a Colt 1911 pink for an enhanced customer.

Laughing at a seller who takes a $300 knife over $10k

Selling a used Barrett .50 for $12,000.00 with scope but nothing else.

Casting led .50 cal bullets for what ever reason they can't find over the counter.

I tried, but it's so cheesy that I can barely keep my dinner down.

I see commercials for it all the time, and the next episode is about the twinkie daughter being able to break down her Colt Defender...

Never without her little dog "Malibu", Paige is currently a high school senior who just got her license and bought her first car, a 4 x 4 Jeep. She's a true daddy's girl, and this includes a love for guns. She wants to have her name in lights, and be a model/actress in the spotlight somewhere. But do not be fooled by her girlie exterior, she is a Wyatt through and through. She knows everything there is to know about guns, which bullets to buy and which shoes to wear with which pistol.

Give them credit, the women on that show have more balls than the men!

I hate to admit, that I have see most of these and have to upgrade it to "watchable". Yes, it is scripted. Yes the show would be better if it was more indepth about the kid doing engraving and the gunsmiths doing work. Yes they are trying to whore up the daughter, though she is beyond the age of consent in her state. Yes, the mom has ridiculous fake cans and stupidly scripted arguments with her husband. And yes, the high drama scripted gun deal negotiations are over the top.

    But,
    1) Its still a gun show.
    2) Because it is "mainstream" it probably helps our cause.
    3) I know you can nit pic things, but guns like that revolver are still cool.
    4) If you made the show really appealing to you and me, the market for it would be so small that you'd be lucky to just see the pilot on some cable channel like "outdoors" or "versus" which most people cant even see.

So yeah, it has a LOTS od faults, but I think it is still watchable and we should support it.

First of all, it's on TV. Nothing is 100% legit or unedited on TV. It's for "some" information, and mostly for entertainment. I, for one...enjoy the show. But, not every show is for everyone...

I support "American Guns" and Gun Smoke...and the Wyatt family!

Great points up the Rum Runner...
