I visit the North Frwy location in Houston ocassionally.
They don't always have what I want but so far, they are good people.

I bought a holster that didn't work for me. Finally got a chance to return it well past the 30 days. Was limited on time so I grabbed a couple ammo cans and pulled out my wallet to make up the difference. She just waved me on saying "we're good". A little wink and off I go.

Best surplus shop forever here in San Antonio was/is Fort Sam Army/Navy.

Moved from their long-time location on Rittiman Road to an opposite corner on Austin Highway.

Owner has done gun shows here and there for years too.

Doubt any one will one-up him any time soon.

Give them a visit, they are good people!

    Be well.

Sorry, but I've been by Ft Sam Army/Navy and was less than impressed. Even in the new location (I've been to both), it's a mess and overpriced. They had basic Romanian AK-47 bayonets for $40. You gotta be shitting me, I pick those up at the gun shows for ten bucks!

There was a nice Army/Navy store near Offutt AFB in Omaha, but only because the entire back section was a display of US uniforms from numerous periods...

And everything wasn't pathetically overpriced either!

There is a pretty nice tactical store on the corner of Military/Hwy90 in the strip mall where Handy Andy used to be; the strip mall with the Flea Market just east of Security Service building.

The Top Brass near here usually carries well priced .50 cal ammo cans for $9 to $13 IIRC, and they have all the fancy schmancy magpul AR parts too.

I went by there earlier today hoping to get a peek inside, nothing doing! They've got all the windows blocked off and there's no way to see inside. They open on Thursday, it looks to be a nice store but a real PITA to get to if you're heading west on IH-10. You have to go all the way down to Dezavala and turn around. Better to sneak up from behind using Fredericksburg Road (it's possible, just look at a map).

The store over on "Hamburger Hill" is OK but not great. I also am pretty sure they are not on the opposite side of the strip mall parking lot now (and the Handy Andy is still there). I got a good deal on a rifle bag there once but it had been sitting around for a while. The selection is not huge and I think Top Brass will be bigger, hopefully better than National Outdoors which is really our only military surplus stores in the area with the exception of places like the one over by Ft Sam.

Holy crap, let me warn y'all, do NOT go to this place unless you plan on spending some money!

I swung by there on my way home, today was their "grand opening" but it really wasn't that busy. What it was, though, is a huge tactical military/law enforcement store that has about everything a gear nut like myself could ever want!

Honestly, it's like a gun show without the guns. I took some pics with my camera but they're not the greatest...

It is just like a Military Clothing store on base, only bigger and better! This place is definitely going to separate me from some of my money! in the future. Prices aren't bad, and the store itself is a lot cleaning than any of the military surplus stores in the area.

This is now my favorite shop in San Antonio!

Actually, I wouldn't even label it as a 'surplus' store as that implies used gear. It's new stuff, and plenty of it!

We're definitely going back again this weekend. I didn't get the store hours but their other locations are open Sun - Friday 9:30am-6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm.

I also didn't find out if they give a military/LE discount...I guess I was too bedazzled by all the cool stuff they had!

    Cheers! M2

LOL i knew what the store was, plus its name is in the pictures, but having a view of the inside speaks much more than a link and a website catalog.

I've been in enough military surplus stores during my time to know the difference. This ain't one of them, 99.9% of the stuff in there is new; not the typical used surplus gear you see at such stores as National Outdoors. It's clean and uncluttered, unlike most surplus stores.

Plus, the company is named Top Brass Military and Tactical, it may have been a surplus store at one point but now it's a full-up tactical store!

    Cheers! M2
