I hired a lawyer to set up my NFA Trust. He seemed helpful. Then he cashed the check, sent me an email with the unexecuted trust and minimal/basic instructions saying to call with any questions. Now he won't return any of my calls. I've called him 5 times (twice I was told he couldn't talk, and I left messages on the other 3 attempts), then sent an email, and then a text message. Not one of them has been returned......none.

I'm tired of wasting my damn time and need to move on. Any suggestions on a lawyer I can call that will answer 5 minutes or so of questions? I'm willing to pay for their time. I just need some help so we can actually use this trust.

I'm open to anyone in Texas or foreigners outside of Texas :-) I'm an instructor and teach CHL, so I have several hundred past students and many more future students to refer to whomever will take and return my calls!

    Thanks amigos!

#1 Since there are so few people doing this, it would be nice to know who you are referring. I know a lot of folks here use Sean Cody. I've heard good things about Christopher Bass in Dallas too.

Wow! Boy were you right.... Christopher Bass is The Man. Not only did he return my call (refreshing....), but he really, really knows his stuff! I will be doing all my future NFA business with him and will be referring him to all my past and future students. He charges $300 to build your trust.

$300 folks! Now, you have no reason to put it off. He makes it extremely simple, answers all your questions, and....shocker...returns calls/emails/etc.

The paper work looks intimidating, but a short 3 minute conversation with Mr. Bass revealed how simple it is. He told me exactly what I need to do with the paper work in future NFA purchases and told me to call him during my first couple of purchases with any questions. Evidently, after that it's pretty simple.

Amazing what a little bit of follow-through on his part has done.

Can't wait to do business with him again! Here's his info:

Just wanted to clarify....Christopher Bass is not the one that originally did my Trust and didn't return my calls. My original lawyer still hasn't returned my calls/email/text. But Mr. Bass answered all my questions even though he did do my original trust. Pretty stand up guy if you ask me.

I think Sean still charges $450 last I heard. I wish you'd just say who you were originally talking about instead of all the cloak & dagger... But o well, glad our suggestions got you what you needed.

Yep, Sean Cody is still $450.00 and worth every penny. He's on mine right now. The first time I called him (used his sponsorship link at the top of this site to get to his page and phone number) I expected to have to leave a message with a secretary and wait days to hear back as that has been my experience dealing with oil and gas attys over the years. I was shocked when he personally answered the phone after only a few rings and was willing to answer all of my initial questions. I even tried giving him an out by saying that I would not take up much of his time because I know he is a busy guy and he just blew that off and kept talking. I was very impressed with him and was also impressed with the information he provides for free on his website. Yes, he is more expensive than the $300.00 shown above but I have no doubt that he knows what he's doing and will do a good job for me and I am also proud to patronize a sponsor of this site.

    Out here by the lake!
Sean did mine as well. When I picked up my last suppressor my dealer & I were talking & Sean's name came up. The dealer said Sean's trust have never been a problem. I take it that he's had other trust that were problematic.

I can assure you I know what I am doing. I have done hundreds of trusts and never had an issue. I am NFA dealer myself and am the preferred trust provider for some of the largest NFA dealers in Texas. I don't care if you use Sean, me, or someone else....but I don't appreciate the badmouthing. Go to AR15.com and ask about me in the NFA forum. You will get dozens and dozens of satisfied customers.

Feel free to call or email me directly to discuss.

I may be speaking out of turn, but I didn't read any "bad mouthing". What I read was, praise of the person that did his. Just sayin...

We all love Sean. I can also attest to hearing NOTHING but great things about Chris Bass as well. He is extremely well thought of in the NFA Trust community. Before everyone gets their feathers ruffled, lets just agree the internet leaves a lot to be "interpreted". And you can honestly read that one post as saying that you don't know what you're getting when you pay $300 for Chris (though I don't think he was bagging on Chris as much as he was praising Sean).

Sean Cody did mine as well earlier this year. I figured if he was patient enough to answer all of my questions over a few phone calls and emails across a few months, then he got my business and trust.

I agree. It always hurts a little when one hears they paid $450 when they could have paid $300. But honestly, that's not a massive diffrence. So, if someone pays $450 for Cody and enjoys the process then so be it. I just want more people to get their NFA trust and buy fun stuff. I've had more fun planning the list of cans, SBR's, SBS', etc that I'm gonna get in the next few years.....dn I haven't even got the damn trust executed yet! :-)

Senor Bass, welcome to the boards (if you haven't been here already), and I look forward to working with you.
