This kinda makes me nervous because my grandmother has Home healthcare coming twice a week, luckily my grandfather has a little snap!! Oh and they dont have internet.
No offense but are you sure of grandpa's snap? That could be the difference between a safe grandma and not.

100% sure! No offense taken BTW. Its hard to put it into words but he watches over like a hawk (for lack of a better phrase). And Im not too far away from them so if he thinks there is a problem I can be there pretty quick.

Yea, it's pretty crazy how bad our elderly are treated these days. I've had my great-grandfather, great-grandmother, and grandmother all in homes. The one my great-grandfather was in wasn't too great. My great-grandmom though was able to find her way into a better one, even if it did cost a little more. One thing we learned through them was to make sure to visit a lot and very randomly. That kept the care-takers on thier toes and helped make sure they were constantly being treated right. Then my grandma-she had cancer hit her, had it removed and went to a home while she was recovering. I hated going to that one. My grandmom was ok because my grand-dad was there with her the whole time making sure that she was cared for as well as family were constantly popping in. But seeing how some of the other old-folks there were...it was like they were just put there and forgotten to die off on thier own. Very upsetting if you think about it too much. I think that had a lot to do with my grandmom getting her butt in gear and working to get better. She wanted out as bad as we wanted her out of there.

My position? It's a FACT. Just because you're ignorant of the subject, does not make it another's opinion.

Wolfwood has had it in for me for a very long time. He once again took something personal and went public. Nothing I've said in this thread is directed at you personally, that was a general statement in #27.

    Now where's the fail?

Hopefully that's the end of this nonsense.

    Anyway...

After years in the health care industry, the last few years in the direct care of geriatric psych patients, I can assure you that the vast majority of elder abuse is committed by their own family. Financial abuse, neglect, physical abuse, it's all rampant but very rarely reported because there's nobody to report it, and/or nobody to report it to. All too often, we have to get Adult Protective Services involved, as a direct result from abuse by their own children.

It's a sad truth of what is considered acceptable in today's society.

    This really is just horrible.

And this is the internet. People want links to what one claims. Glockster isnt fighting. He just wants proof of your statement. Nothing more.

Are you sure they are nurses and not CNAs? The difference between the two is the difference between a security guard and a SWAT member.
