People have flagged my posts for AR magazines about six times in one day already. Yeah, I know it's against the rules, but usually stuff like this stays up a while before getting shit-canned.

Someone else texted me about buying my rifle and told me my price of $2000 for a franken-AR was too high because he just sold his M&P15 for $1100 yesterday. My response:

"That's last months price, my friend."

Then he tried to tell me Nagels is selling ARs for $1100. My response:

    "What kind of ARs? .22s?"

I guess he's not gonna buy. Go find some other clueless sucker. Pointless and somewhat amusing rant over!

So you got mad because someone doesn't want to pay $2,000 for an AR 15? I don't get it. Does it have nice sights on it or something? And he sold his M&P 15 for $1100? Damn. Everyone jumping on the price gouging bandwagon, it seems.

"Mad?" More like highly amused. As far as price gouging goes, I just addressed this elsewhere:

"People who were smart enough to see the writing on the wall and stock up on more gear than they needed are now being rewarded with profits so high others are accusing them of "Price-gouging." Price gouging?! The guys making hilariously high profits on what were yesterday's sale items are the same guys who've been ridiculed for years for putting so much away because they were "Paranoid hoarders" preparing for a ban that "Will never happen." They're also the same guys who've been advising everyone who would listen to stock up while you can because another ban is always a possibility. "Price-gouging?" No, friends, it is the price of ignorance we are seeing people pay. Don't hate the ant, little grasshoppers. He warned you!"

Let me ask you, if you bought stocks that doubled or tripled in value over about two weeks time, would you sell at last month's price? No, I didn't think so. Explain to me again why I should sell my AR for last month's average price now that it is worth at least double, please.

BTW, if he really sold his M&P15 for $1100 (which I doubt), he is a fool (unless it is a .22).

My friend, when market conditions dictate that the price of an item go up, that is not price gouging.

There was a drought last year and corn will be about 50% higher this year. Are they gouging me?

If there are so many available guns and WAY more people that want them, then there is availibility, then the price goes up. A simple supply demand model.

Please look up the legal definition of price gouging. People being upset that they dont have an AR and they are now 100% higher than a month ago, does not fit that definition.

Please stop using the term GOUGING. It is not gouging. Guns are worth whatever people are willing to pay. If people will not pay, sellers will lower the price. Why do YOU get to decide what sellers should ask?

Easy fix. Wrap your magazines together with a nice fat rubber band. Offer to sell said rubber band for the price you are looking to get for your magazines. Place small asterisk note saying magazines are free with purchase of rubber band.

I just went to smithandwesson.com as well as quanticotactical.com since those are sites I have been shopping around on anyways recently, so I'm familiar with what the price market was set at. It's only gone up $100-$200. When you're trying to sell your rifle on the private market for 30%-60% more than it's worth brand new...yea, that's price gouging. I don't care if everyone's doing it. Just because you're selling it for that much, don't mean it's worth that much.

Also, it has long been my understanding that gun owners try to look out for one another. Kinda like you see guys who ride motorcycles do, or jeep owners do. I just thought it was just common courtesy.

I list on Craigslist at night, after most people are in bed. The listing will usually be up until just after breakfast time, which is always enough time to get at least a few interested views. I sold a few guns like that.

When money's involved courtesy sometimes goes out the window....LOL
