Since I haven't had a beer in two weeks I figured I'd make a post about them. (No I'm not an alcoholic, I just play one in real life)

So what are your favorites?

The Usuals:

- Dos Equis w/ Lime
- Shiner Blonde / Black / Regular
- Bass

Those seem to be available everywhere, but my favorites are:

- Chimay Red
- Duvel
- Midas Touch (Love the history and unique flavor)

A nice, big, juicy steak with fresh crushed black pepper and cayenne, a fresh Bavarian rye round, a few slices of cheese, and a 1L bottle of Duvel and Chimay is quite possibly the closest to medieval bliss as one gets. If you're having a bad day, this will cheer you up better than anything.

When I'm feeling a bit more spirited I generally reach for the Johnny Walker Black. I tried it on a whim and was pleased. It has a nice robust flavor, alot of vanilla and oak flavors.

Anyone else got any favorites? I'm game to try a few.

I do not support anything made by the top three, the beer industry have more lobbyists than any other special interest group. The 3 tier system, in place since the end of prohibition, is in direct conflict with the capitalist ideals of our country. This system prevents the brewery from selling or distributing their own beer.

I'll drink a Bohemia with some mexican food.
A Young's Double Chocolate with some Lindemans Framboise in ii aint bad.

For the most part beer gasses me up & I would rather drink gin or vodka.

Most any Belgain ales especially Trappist. Like Westmalle, Orval, or Westvleteren.

Anything from Sierra Nevada

For local or domestics, I like the offerings from the Fort Worth brewery Rahr. Storm Cloud whic is an India Pale Ale, and Blond which is a German Helles style.

Speaking of Rahr, Visiting that brewery in Fort Worth is a blast. Saturday afternoon 1 - 3. Pay $5 for a keeper glass (or bring one from the last time) then $5 gets you four 16 oz beers of the many varieties they have on tap, while a live band plays and people mill around the brewing equipment.

Beer:
Coors Light on a regular basis
Blue Moon on occasion
Whiskey (more than beer):
Buffalo Trace
Crown Reserve
Knob Creek

That's pretty much it for me. I drink way more Buffalo Trace than anything these days.

I usually forego the red can, but someone was talking about Bourbon and Coke so I thought I'd oblige them on that particular night.

Drinking a couple Shiner Blondes right now actually. I'm a light beer guy...Bud Select, Coors Light and Shiner Blonde being my top beers.

My favorite drink if I wanna get really hammered though is Crown/7up.

with a name like that, i dont want to get it anywhere near my lips
especially if the bottle is shaped, as the name implies....LOL

if i see it, i might try to pick up a bottle, know of any places that carry it...?
Mount Gay Rum is produced by Mount Gay Distilleries Ltd. of Barbados. The product was first produced in 1703.
It is not the easiest to find. The Liquor store by my house has it. Some of the larger chain stores carry it.
If you ever try it it will replace any rum you have been drinking.

Waterin' hole favorites

When hosting w/ladies present I serve up some Don Julio frozen strawberry or Lime rocks-margaritas. Otherwise I enjoy guzzlin' down some coors light or miller lite after a hunt or a country shootin' session. Round' the house I'm a Jack n' Coke type. My all time favorite however is probably Paulaner Pils....so frothy and delicious.

Well, my list is short..
Beer: Shiner or Budlight with Limer

Hard Liquor: Everclear (goes nice with lemonade)
Tequila: 1800 Silver

I don't do whiskey any more... I tried to out drink my wife in a whiskey shootin contest, and being the good ol' southern women she is..She won. There's somethin unnatural about a woman downing 16 shots of whiskey and not keeling over. I woke up 13 hours later between the toilet and the bath tub. So yeah.. no more whiskey for me.
