Just read the FEDS will call off the CASH FOR CLUNKER program at midnight tonight. 23,000 trade ins and already handed out 96 million.

Hmmmm.....I honestly have no idea how much .gov has left in the program but the official .gov clunkers website is saying $779mil still left in the program out of 1 billion.

It looks like they update the webpage on an hourly basis. Doesn't necessarily mean the webpage people are on the same wavelength as the shot-callers though. The online figure could be only cash already paid out to the dealers, not pending trade-ins sitting on the lot.

There goes my new diesel truck.. Not surprised though. Clunkers for guns sounds good to me.

With this administrations dislike for guns (that's an understatement).....it's surprising they hadn't come up with trading guns in on cars!! I have a couple I'd take $4500.00 for...........they are ammo guzzlers!

Story is (from the new car dealers I deal with daily) that they can't get any straight answers from the government on whether they will get paid for the trades they have already done or not because the poorly managed "program" has no clue what it is doing. Although the program has been up and running for days, nobody knows any details.

...and these are the same fine folks that are going to "FIX" health care.

    Bend over boys.

News report on TV last night said Feds have agreed to honor all deals that were made before the dead line and hey they wouldn't lie to us!

The really absurd point to all of this is that our sheeple are all still standing in line with their hand out... too bloody stupid (or greedy) to stop and wonder where the money actually comes from.

    OH GOODY! IT'S CAR WELFARE!

Anybody willing to stop and think, should see that there are a couple of objectives in play here.

    1. The agenda of the left to force the population into driving more fuel efficient vehicles is being partially fulfilled. (I'm sure there is plenty of green wood over this in Libland).

    2. The government will now have many thousands of Americans deeper in debt. This keeps them working and earning... which results in more taxable income (Not to mention the tax revenue generated on the state and local level from the purchase of all of these new cars).

But I'm sure all of this was done just because they wanted to help us.

I saw that too... Looks like typical Government BS. A billion dollars (taken out of your pocket and mine) will magically become 2 billion overnight.

    Thanks Uncle Sam!

I understand they are planning a new program turn in your grandparents
for termination and receive a voucher permitting you to have a child.

    Talking stages only.;)
