Instructors, DPS has posted instructions for the replacement of TR100s. As of Sept 1 there will be no more TR100 orders, you may continue to exhaust your current supply. After that there is going to be a downloadable form on the DPS website that we will use until they come up with an alternative method.

I over bought in the 13+ years that I have been teaching this class so bad that I still have 3 or 4 of the certificates in my stuff, Never transferred over to the "NEW" TR100. Looks like now I won't have to.

I recently pulled down the new CHL student test and was disappointed that they still have those stupid, poorly worded questions on there. The ones they added aren't particularly relevant. They're more concerned with the student knowing details of a change of address or name, or the ability to carry in the vehicle without a license. It seems they missed an opportunity to ask the important questions.

I agree totally. Why is a question about licensing requirements more important than say USE OF DEADLY FORCE ?

I also have wondered why they have not placed questions that would deal with the different force statutes.. And getting rid of the poorly worded question about zero tolerance which they want you to answer incorrectly..(With True) in there own words in the question and answer in back of the book plainly staes what the law is on page 70.
There is a legal limit(under .08) other than substantial impairment which might be what they are shooting at.

    Update

I sent some of you the info already, but for the others:

    1. As of Sept 1 we will download the blank "training certificate" from the DPS website.

    2. We are still required to maintain copies of the completed forms, so copy or scan or have your students fill out two.

    3. There is no serial number system for the forms yet.

    4. DPS will still offer packets and finger print cards to the instructors so that your students are not required to apply online.
