I don't get it. This is much more expensive and complex than the Magnatrigger. It doesn't do anything more than the Magnatrigger. Knowing what I know about RFID hacking, I wouldn't trust it.

If you really want a device that does this, go for the many-decades-old, well-proven technology: Gun Safety Add-ons, Smart Guns, Magna-Trigger

Why would gun sellers even want to sell it? This is technology that may one day put many of them out of business or severely cut down on their current margins.

They'd have to be fools to stock this thing that nobody is going to want. Gun stores already make pitiful profit margins as it is, especially in CA.

It's a wildly overpriced ten-round .22LR pistol that quite frankly has no chance of standing up to anything like regular use before the electronics break and it becomes an inert paperweight (possibly with a round chambered...how safe!)

How can it not fall on its face?

This is not the answer but it's a good "first step". We really need to replace that ten round high capacity magazine that it has with a safer low capacity one.

Nearly $1,800??? That's nearly THREE TIMES what I paid for my Springfield Armory Loaded model 1911-A1 ... and it doesn't need some overpriced watch nearby to operate. But it seems to satisfy the dipshit asswads in the Peoples' Socialist Яepublik of Kalifornia. Well, more power to those stupid asswads. If those assholes think they can infect the rest of the country with their dipshittery, they have another think coming. The rest of the REAL world looks at those assholes in that hosed socialist/Marxist hellhole and laughs their ass off at them. Those people are so stupid that they deserve all the stupid asswad legislation that the assholes they elect dump on them.

Would be funny as hell to see the pro-gun guys in California put forth legislation requiring all LEO to carry these :)

Then sit back and wait for them to create a shit storm about them being unsafe, dangerous, un-tested, etc.......................

Damn...you beat me to it, sort of: I was going to suggest that the Secret Service be the first to adopt these pistols.

Like my dad (and Archie Bunker) would have said, "sounds kinda commy to me."

Of course this is only the first step. Next, police will be able to disable weapons. Bad idea.
Look for anyone wearing the watch and you will know they are armed...
