this. He used to be great when he started, the last time I tried to get a transfer done he was real, real flakey. Less than reassuring when you are having something you waited on for months shipped. I am using Black Gold Guns now, don't like the $35 cost, but it's around the corner from the day job so I save time, tolls, & fuel.

Those guys are nice guys. Usually have something interesting they're peddling too.

He's more interested in smoking a little greenery out back...
Last time I stayed in a small, family motel in Colorado, it always took several minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Even then, as soon as the door between the family residence and the front office opened, the smoke and smell of burning "greenery" was intense. I don't think the stuff is terribly harmful but, apparently, it sure can be a distraction. ;)

Yeah but waiting 30-45-60 min to get let in is ridiculous. Only reason he finally let us is is when 2-3 other people showed up and we all walked around back and he's "hiding" in back puffing away and he smells so strongly of it you can't breathe hardly.

Only waited that long because it was my only day I could go.

Man, the cheapest I ever found back in Los Angeles was $65 per. One good thing is they had an online form for you to prefill your information so they just had to print it out and such when you got there.

Turners in Southern California was charging $125, and had to be on Roster of approved handguns per CADOJ. That state us such a joke, so glad I left. Anyway...
    Austin Gun Liquidators $35
Central Texas Gun Works $15CHL $20 nonCHL

    Here and There
Spring Guns and Ammo and Tomball Pawn can both kick sand. They both charge $50.00 per transfer.

I used Tomball Pawn to ship a couple of item to that I found cheap without asking what the transfer charge was, going with a friend's word that 'They'll take care of you'. Boy did they. May as well have paid retail.

Took my business to Spring Guns, as I love their range and have a good relationship with everyone there. Same shizzle.

Called up Houstongunforum and found out that if you didn't pick up your items on time (which he, according to this thread is not), that he either ships it back or charges a storage fee "because I have too much business to store guns"....brother, if you are that busy, you are too busy for me AND my friends.

GRRRRR!!!! I really hope that when the panicking is all done everyone remembers who tried to take advantage of the regular customers.

I don't think any gunstore do transfers for cheap, they're trying to discourage inet sales.

    Who would have thunk!

Yeah well they better start stocking P210s, Accuracy Internationals, Pythons, Barretts, SG551-SP2s, and H&H doubles then. Otherwise piss on them for their attitude.

I would never buy anything they do have in inventory if they were dicks about doing a transfer for something they don't normally carry.
