Pretty sure that's got something to do with the fact that if you're "concealing" with a Hawaiian shirt or with a fanny pack, you might as well be carrying openly, as far as the experienced eye is concerned. Maybe.

Hey(!), I can buy into just about whatever anybody says; as I said, I have absolutely no idea how that aspect of the thing got started. I do know, I didn't own any Hawaiian shirts OR Acapulco shirts - which looks like, would be perfectly acceptable alternative to me!

I do remember explaining this "tradition" to my wife. And before I knew it, I was the (?)proud(?) owner of one Hawaiian shirt! She offered to accompany me to WallyWorld that day and snapped off a couple of pictures. (I'll look to see if I still have them; if so, I'll embarrass myself and post one here - pay attention here, rman!).

And here all along I thought stretch pants and tank top was the proper attire for Walmart.

That's what I call taking one for team! I wear long shirts untucked w/o flowers all the time when I carry. It is usually very good concealment unless you carry a hand cannon. I prefer OWB

Ok, as far as very "loud" (outlandish) shirts are concerned, at least my wife picked out one that wasn't *too bad*! As you can see, it was some kind of pattern done in blue & black. And without further ado:

Don't really remember (it's been too long ago) but I think I was carrying a G19 IWB.

You'll never get your picture in "people of Walmart" dressed like that. Next time wear a thong bathing suit and cowboy boots with that shirt.

Like SurplusGuy I got my LTC in two weeks. Waited until Sept. 1 and, much to my surprise, got my renewal in the mail Sept 15.

That's pretty quick turnaround time - which you'd think it should be for a "renewal". Maybe the prospect of Constitutional Carry in Texas, has them operating with a little more efficiency?

Certainly a lot faster then it was the beginning of 2016, took mine about 7 weeks. Of course many took much longer. Good to see things are moving much quicker.

Dare I admit it? I now own two (...count ‘em: 2) “Hawaiian” shirts! Some number of months later, my ex- (...no, just teasing; we’re still married - even after the second shirt!), bought a more “traditional” Hawaiian shirt with flowers and some colorful, big-@ss’d parrot on it. Hell, I look like I could be groupie in Jimmy Buffett’s Parrothead fan club! The only time I wore it, was my last day of work (retirement).
I usually keep a watch when I’m at WalMart and if I see anybody wearing an Hawaiian shirt, I’m likely to just throw out a random “Congratulations” as I pass by!
