    http://societyforpsychotherapy.org/confidentiality-and-its-exceptions-the-case-of-duty-to-warn/

“In... Texas, the Texas Supreme Court ruled in 1999 that health professionals in that state have no duty to warn and protect (Thapar v. Zezulka, 1999). As Barbee, Combs, Ekleberry, and Villalobos (2007) explain, the Texas Supreme court specifically decided not “to violate various state confidentiality statutes enacted by the Texas Legislature governing mental health professionals” (p. 19). Thus, in Texas, a psychotherapist who acts on a duty to warn and/or protect when a client expresses the intent to harm another individual would be violating Texas law and placing her or himself at great legal risk.“

Kind of like when I go to the doctor and the nurse asks have you been feeling depressed. I always answer none of your business.

    ^^^
It’s also going to make kids fully aware that if they say anything remotely related to aggression they will get charged or otherwise punished, so they will clam up and everything will go underground.

Mental health care will be more of a joke than it already is, because no one will risk being real.

The fights at multiple schools should have been enough for juvenile justice to get involved.

I guess times have changed because I fought at every school I haver attended. I’ve also killed hundreds of small animals.

I loves watching me some “Patriot Nurse” YouTube channel.

She explains why the broad brush “mental illness” gun grabbing is UNCOOL.

She has a few other good videos. Basically saying that we are in a decline and that there is no conversation to be had with people who cannot agree that there are natural rights.

Reading reports that he gave his now deceased adoptive mother lots of problems. Killed small animals and stole things from neighbors' garages. Don't know if it is true, but seems he was pretty undisciplined.

un·dis·ci·plined adjective, lacking in discipline; uncontrolled in behavior or manner.

"Killed small animals..." Have people REALLY given that some thought? Who on this message board has NOT killed small animals? The kid shot some sparrows with a bb gun. This difference between him and when we were kids is we didn't walk around with a video camera in our pocket, oh, an this idiot shot up a bunch of other kids as an adult.

Kid like this Florida shooter I JUST BET would not have even been close to court commitment if in treatment, talking with me in therapy.

The bullets in his backpack... now that’s probably the closest action that might have got him close to there. That’s kinda unusual.

That “professional school shooter” comment on social media is “edgy”,
but in person, no question he would known the right things to say to avoid a court order for treatment. Absent of actual evidence of violence... his odd/ deranged thoughts are not an accurate predictor of violence in that there are way, way too many false positives of people who say stuff like that and do NOT go on to commit actual offenses.

Those "bullets" in his back pack were empty cases. Half the time I have an empty case in one pocket or another. One of the wife's big complaints is finding them in the washer.

Oh wow. I can totally see a kid collecting those. I’ve seen scouts at summer camp try to collect them.

    Thanks for updating my misinformation.

Killing is one thing, torturing animals in the process of killing is a whole different ballgame.

You are certainly correct in saying she is arguing the issue with those that use logical thought processes: that does NOT include the anti-2Aers and anti-gunners. They clearly have no interest other that taking your gun away from you. They ignore the cold hard fact that laws only are of use prior to an incident if people chose to follow them. I fear the worst effect that may come out of this horrific incident is finding that the current laws regarding mental illness and gun ownership had NO effect on the right of Nickolas Cruz to purchase and own a firearm. I fear this will be a call to arms for anti-gunners to fight to broaden mental health restrictions and not worry about the 2nd Amendment. I fear the time when you will have to prove your sanity if you say, had a counsel about PTSD after release from the military, or maybe you disclosed to your doctor that sometimes you are sad or depressed. Or maybe you posted on FB or a forum that you think someone is an idiot. Paranoid? Maybe, but their goal is to get your gun from you. I believe they have shown that they have no problem trampling what we believe to be a clearly defined constitutional rights. They will certainly have the sympathy of the left-bent MSM.

They will not get the providers (those who obtain the licenses to provide mental health services) on board. And if they try, I will relentlessly shred the views of those who try to get on board. I already shred the views of underlings who are not educated and try to diagnose anyways and act like experts when they are not.

Without us, they can’t make it happen. Unless they try to go over our heads somehow. Without hard evidence to say that “ Xyz actually predicts violence with only rare/no false positives” ... I don’t know how they can.

This video addresses that “Fix NICS” is a misnomer. That there is an issue with the state’s reporting that info of who has been declared “mental defective” or been “involuntarily committed” isn’t something the state can be forced to do because of HIPPA violations.

So even if this kid DID meet criteria for reporting to NICS, that said reporting to that agency is technically not legal due to HIPPA violations.
