It's a peaceful day in the neighborhood. Besides the military helicopters. No range fire. You can hear the birds singing. The old ladies nest door chattering, laughing....

So, I took the exhaust plug on the motorcycle. Everything needs to wake up.

Noticed oil pressure slightly lower than usual last couple of weeks........coolant light came on.....no external leaks...but a leaky head gasket or cracked head likely.....

Definitely have some water, how does the oil look? Heads and gaskets failing on stock motors is pretty rare on the GEN-III motors though, and if the oil otherwise looks fine do you think it might just be condensation? Watch the oil temp, make sure you're spending enough time >212F to boil it off.

If it's still running okay, it's probably the intake manifold gasket. Happened to an old '83 2.8 liter V6 I had. Something about an aluminum vs iron causing corrosion from electrolysis.

Intake is dry on these motors, no water goes through them. 225k, I'd love to see that one torn down to see what the ultimate failure is. I suppose it could be head gasket failure if it severely overheated, because there's not a lot of areas where water and oil can mix on these engines.

Won't know until I pull the valve covers if it is the Castech heads......if it is a cracked (head) putting a new or rebuilt head on only one side will eventually cause blow by through the rings....if I rebuild both sides....still the same problem....If no cracks...just re-deck the heads and replace......still, I don't really want to mess with it......I freaking hate pulling exhaust manifolds.....

Fresh paint on one of the Vipers and had the shop replace the HRE racing wheels with HRE C103’s while they were at it. 18” fronts and 19” rears.

I did nothing because it needs nothing done. Maybe new tires and check the air conditioning in the spring?
