I will remind everyone of the scoring rules:

"4. SCORING: You score your own targets, or have someone score for you. These matches are run on the honor system. When posting the score, you are required to ALSO include: a) type of gun/optic; b) type of ammo; c) distance/method shot(bench or prone); d) weather conditions/other factors affecting scoring; e) Which classification did you follow- rookie, marksman, or expert; and f) any pics you can provide of gun/optic/conditions/target."

An example of a proper Scoring Post is here(example only-not my official target):

    January 2013 TGTRFC official target

Here is my official January target. I had a few "practice" targets that turned out a bit better but this was one of my 2 "official" scorers. Looks like I will be hangin around marksman level for a while.

    February 2013 OST

Here it is...hope I can keep this up month to month. The second of my 2 scoring targets for FEB 2013. As I score it, a 100 w/4x bulls closely approaching 6X bulls-eyes. This was shot on a windy day with gusts blowing at me at a slight angle. My Setup is a modded 10/22 w/ Mueller APV at 14X magnification. I have been using almost exclusively wolf MT for the competetition but have also run a few rounds of RWS and fiocchi through the same rifle. I use a 2 person bench to rest the rifle usually setting on a folded rifle soft case with a sandbag in front. I usually use a crossed arm position to rest the butt of the rifle, sometimes a bag under the grip portion of the gun. I'll post pictures of my usual setup in the rimfire discussion thread after this weekend.

My latest effort for the competition. I'm calling it a 99, w/3x bulls. As usual, shot at 25yds, bagged but shouldered, steadied and trigger pulled by me. I cracked open a new batch of wolf MT and so far so good. This is the second installment in my effort to attain Marksman status. 6 total practice targets again this month(out of 8 possible) and only 2 scorers. My first was a 97 w/3x bulls but my second effort was a bit better.

Okay, here is my first one.
3/27, Austin Rifle Club, very light breeze, Savage FVSR w/ BSA Sweet 22 scope, CCI standard velocity 40 grain ammo, shooting for: not making a fool out of myself. Calling it an 86/0 (yell at me if I called it wrong).

I got an early start this month and already shot my scorer. I picked a great day, the sun was out, the wind was calm and in spite of yellow jackets settling in under the bench seats, I shot this bad boy. I went through only 1 practice target prior and I was just "feelin' it" so I shot both scorers right away. My first was my best, as I score it, a 99 w/2x bulls. This is my third installment in my efforts to attain marksman status. So this makes it official. My aggregate score is basicaly a 99w/3x bullseyes. Here's a picture to prove it....

Ok, I'm a little late to the party with this may target. It didn't aid in my cause to attain expert status, so it sat around a while. I had also run out of white card stock so forgive the freaky yellow color. Here it is though, a 98 w/3x bulls. Not bad but not enough for expert.

    June 2013 TGT RFC scorer

This is my June target. This one took me some serious dialing-in on the sighter bulls. Managed to pull off a 99 but only 1 bull to show for it. As usual, wolf MT and my Hogue wrapped 10/22 w/Mueller APV at 14x. Still chasing those perfect scores.:(

    July 2013 RFC scorer

I made it out to the country yesterday to take a stab at perfection...and came up short again. I actually hit more bulls eyes on my damn practice targets but this is the only one that counts. I score this one a 98 w/0x bulls. I had a shot that looked real close to a bull but I could see a hint of the inner circle intact. It's also time for a new backstop, I had to tape the hell out of this thing to keep it on. I'll probably swap it out next month and maybe it will bring me some luck.

    August 2013 RFC scorer

I went out this month because it was under 100, finally. Didn't get any cooperation from nature though. Winds shifting from Easterly to Southerly to South easterly, back and forth. Needless to say, I'm still hangin' around in the marksman category. This will be my worst posted scorer in months, a 96 w/2X bulls. I tired a few rounds of some high end RWS R50 on a practice target and was so disappointed that I used wolf MT to shoot my scorer.

Here's my target for August, in the rookie category.

The rifle used is a Ruger 10/22 a Mueller 4.5-14x scope, shooting regular old Remington Goldens. My apologies if I screwed up the scoring; this is the first time I've done this.

This was done on the pistol range (Range A) at Austin Rifle Club; conditions were about 90 degrees with a very light breeze out of the southeast.

I finally found some time this month to try my hand at it. This was also my first effort with Wolf match extra. I started off putting a few on my practice targets and getting my barrel well seasoned with the match extra. I was not disappointed. I had some light wind from east to west that shifted west to east. I tried to remain calm as I started hitting bulls but couldn't help but pull the trigger with reckless abandon, even when I felt the wind kicking up behind me. All in all, I completely understand why so many people are willing to drop the extra coin on the wolf ME. I easily could have hit a "100" but simply did not have the patience to wait for the wind to settle. As it stands, this months scoring target is a solid "98" w/5 bulls eyes. I am confident that next month, if I do my part, I have an honest chance at perfection. As usual, shot at 25 yds, Mueller APV at 14x, sandbags under foregrip and one bag under the stock. Steadied and shot by me. I let that light breeze push 2 out of the 100 zone but I'm still happy with it. Here it is for your viewing pleasure...

Entering as a Rookie - Calling an 84-0x - CMP Kimber Model 82 Govt. - 25 yards indoors at Aaron's Gun Shop in Cameron.
Aguila Super Extra Ammo - Using a "post" front aperture since I "cheaped out" and printed the targets in "draft" and couldn't see them well enough through the normal round apertures. Excellent rifle... FedEx delivered it yesterday.

Gave it a go this morning. Not too impressed. Some good shots, and some not so good.

Shooting Wolf ME for the first time. It might have been the guy behind the gun, but the shoot on the lower middle was not aimed that poorly. I've not cleaned the gun in a while... maybe 500 - 600 rounds, other than a pass with a brush-less bore snake a few times. Maybe that's the problem.

Bipod front support, and sand bag rear.

Here's my offering for October, kinda early, but I didn't shoot this last Friday evening, and probably won't next Friday, either.
Calling a 96-2X, really pleased with this new rifle.
25 yards indoors at Aaron's Gun Shop in Cameron, off sandbags. Used a yellow 3.8mm clear front aperture this time, made a world of difference! Oct 11, 2013.jpg
Also, I taped the target to a 12"x18" piece of white cardstock so that I'm not seeing a "clipped" edge in the front aperture on the outside targets.
I've got an order of Wolf ME due in this coming week, so we'll see if I can shoot well enough next time, to take advantage of it.

Had a chance to make it out to Aaron's Gun Shop last night and here's the result...
    12-27-13.jpg
    I'm going to call it a 95-0x.
Didn't shoot as well with the Wolf ME as I did with the Aguila Super Extra but I have a sneaking suspicion that the lower velocity of the Wolf gives me more time to come off target. I'm also thinking that I need a slightly smaller front aperture.
Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and will have a Happy (and safe) New Year!

Here is my January target. I way behind in posting it...and it's nothing to brag about. My first time out with the 10/22 since hunting season started. Wind was pushing my shots all over the place. Wolf match extra through my 10/22 wearing a Mueller apv scope.
