My February target. Some head wind but better than the gusts I was experiencing in January. Once again, Wolf ME, 10/22 with ER shaw 18" ss bbl. on a bench at 25yds. Bags in front. I ran out of blue and yellow ink so I printed a few black on yellow targets to try out. This is my one and only scorer for this month. Putting a few more bullseyes on paper and feeling good about it.

Just got home from Aaron's Gun Shop. Pretty pleased with the outcome. 97-1X off bags, indoors, 25 yards. Scoring the one's right on the line can be tough. I'll probably be investing in a scoring gauge from Champion's Choice since it looks like I plan on staying in this game. Things that helped tonight... a rear bag and wearing some corrective glasses. Things that hurt... guy shooting a hand cannon two lanes over. When the brass jumps off of the floor in your lane...

Gave it a go this morning. There was a pretty strong, gusty cross wind, but that's how it goes I guess.

Not my best, but here it is.

I'm very much a noob but I want to play, so here's my "less than official" first entry.

I shot this in the indoor range which is only 19-20 yards long. I used my Ruger 10/22 with a Primary Arms micro red dot, rifle resting on my range bag and me "taking a knee" on the floor.

I'll print out some more targets and give it a shot next time I'm out at ASC where I can get on a real 25-yard lane.

Here is my scoring target from March. Had a busy month, so its taken me a while to get around to posting it. It is a solid 97 w/2x bulls. Pretty windy that day. It won't advance me to expert but not a bad effort.

This is my scorer for April, shot it 2 weeks ago. Another windy day out. Real close to another 97 but I have to call it a 96 w/2x.
Shot from a bench using wolf match extra and bags. Since my transition to the marksman category, I'm finding it pretty damn difficult to advance. It becomes much more of a challenge when you are only shooting 1 target for score. Even worse when you are out in the elements trying for perfection.

I went out this last Sunday and shot this. I'm scoring it a 100 w/2x bulls. This target officially pushes me into the expert category. I'd like to thank wolf ammo and some agreeable central Texas spring weather for helping to make it happen.

I was lucky enough to get out the day after our meet up and Mics place and do some more shooting with my 22. This target was shot at 25yds, bench rested, and bagged with wolf me ammo. As it stands, a 100 w/3x bullseyes. It was a breezy day but the wind seemed to settle just as I started in on this scorer. I am currently an expert shooting for fun at this point. Somehow, it never gets old shooting a 100 score.

    July 2014 OST

This is my official scoring target for July. I've been in a good rhythm with the Wolf ME but pulled one shot just a hair off center. The results, a 99 score with only 1x bulls.

Here's my August target. As I score it, a 98 w/1X bulls. August is never my best month. It was breezy and hot at the same time. After dove season, I hope to start posting some 50 yard targets.

    Here's my first official entry.

    Scored: 82-0X at 50 yards
Rifle: Ruger 10/22, Nikon Target EFR at 9X
    Ammo: CCI Standard Velocity

I had a flyer from a lower sighter target end up on the last bull, marked with a "?".

I managed to squeeze in some time before opening day of dove season to try my luck at 50yds. All things considered, I'm happy with the results. I had to set up on the smaller bench out at my friends place. It has a really small(under 2'x2') top we originally designed for a mechanical rest. The weather has really taken it's toll on it and the bench is a little shaky compared to the larger one we have out there.
I can tell, the wind will be a serious adversary at this range. It was breezy that day and I felt like I was making corrections after every target I shot at.
Since this was my debut at 50yds, I decided to shoot 4 practice targets before I moved on to the 4 scorers. I ended up with all my scoring targets in the 80s and this one was the best of them.
    So, for the record:
    50 yard rookie qualifier
    10/22 w/ER shaw 18" SS bull barrel
Mueller APV scope set to 14x
    Wolf match extra ammo

    Overall score 87 w/2x bullseyes

It was a bit windy with changing directions out at ASC today. I wish I had gotten some targets shot earlier in the month but oh well.

In-laws were keeping me busy the last few days. Finally got around to posting a September target. I decided to change things up and use a different rifle that I built on a budget. It has only 3-9x magnification and I went with wolf mt for the session. A one point drop from last month but from a rifle that I have half as much money into. My printer had just run out of cyan ink so this one came out a little yellow. The wind was listed at only 6 mph from the south and still managed to push a few shots around.

Since the holidays will probably eat up any chance of getting to the range to get a better score, here is my score card for December: 79-0x.

This is my latest attempt to break into the Marksman category. Officially it's a 92 W/1X bulls eyes. Really had to split hairs on the upper right bull, could have called that one a -2 but I guess I was feeling generous. I'm still 5 points away from getting there but enjoying the challenge all the same. Hitting a 97 or better at 50 yards is gonna be near impossible in outdoor conditions. Hopefully I'll get a calm day in next month and improve my score. Shot in mild conditions with a light breeze.
