On one of my AR 15's, I have a leupold AR series scope mounted, and I've purchased a 1 'clock mount which I had originally intended for an offset light on my CQB rifle. I've decided instead to use it for a reflex sight in a 1 o clock position. I've shelled out major sheckles here recently for the leupold and an AIMPOINT comp M3 for my other rifle, so I'm going to hold off on the trijicon reflex.

    My two questions:

    1. anyone have any experience with the burris fast fire? It's in my price range and it seems to fit the bill. is it paralax free? That's rather important when mounting at 1 o clock I assume

    2. In this position whats the easiest way to sight in? the dot moves diagonally with the controls if you think about the position it'll be mounted it. Maybe a laser bore sight at 25yds then fine adjustments for longer distances? (can't imagine using a reflex effectivley past 100yds)

    Any help is appreciated.

The Burris is a great little optic, I have one on my AK, and a buddy of mine mounted one exactly as you described on his AR. You are on point with number two as well...

Sighting in and shooting with a sight at that position is usually accomplished by canting the rifle slightly so that the sight is now at the "top" and level. You're just going to roll the rifle in so that the Leupold is at the 11 and the reflex is at 12.
