    1)Run the takedown tension nut as tight as you can that allows you to still perform a takedown operation.
    2)Find the ammo it likes.
    3) Get a cantilever mount for the scope that attaches to the barrel.
    4) Smooth out the inside of the receiver where the bolt rides.

    I recommend you join the rimfire central forum and look around the 10-22 section and specifically the 10-22 takedown sub-forum.
    There is a lot of good info there.

    may want to look at the 10/22 charger takedown for a shorter one.
