Just reread the post and figured out you are asking about the front of the grip. Try some skateboard tape before you decide to cut the frame. Personally, I don't care for it.

Why do you want them on the front of the slide? Just curious, I have them on a Kimber and never work the slide with them.

I've owned a couple 1911's that have had the tactical finger grooves on the front and have found that I prefer these for such things as cleaning the weapon, clearing the chamber, etc because I find the rear ones awkward...

Wilson carries a thin aluminum sriip that is checkered and wraps around and is secured by the grips. I've handled a few with it and they are not too bad.

I was looking at one of those earlier... Runs about 10 bucks... Probably a mere fraction of what the real thing would cost.... Choices... Choices... Choices...

Are you talking about two separate things?

Why would you contemplate spending that much $$$ on a RIA?

Why not start purchasing some Fusion parts and collect for a new build over time?

I'm want to be working on a Fusion build as well in the future. This is for right now. The plan for the Fusion build is a .357 Sig 1911.
