careful guys. this is step a step in the right direction but the statute addressed is about prohibited weapons. that is to say simple possession is illeagal. this has nothing to do with carry laws. this is for the collector. other issues being addressed include that cities cannot make more restrictive laws than the state. I discuss this at Texas Legal Boot Knives - YouTube

No, possession covers carry and is not restricted to collector's. If switchblades are stricken from penal code 46.05, then the carry of them would be lawful. Currently it is illegal to posses, which includes carry.

You pretend to be an expert but you have no idea what you are talking about. Switchblades, assuming a single edge and blade of 5.5 inches or below, will be legal to carry if they are removed from 46.05 prohibited weapons. One bill wants to add auto knives to 46.03 but even then they would be legal to carry in most places.

He can't use that argument anyways, as the Texas Constitution says otherwise.

SEC. 23. Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power by law to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.
