    Range improvement.
    Improve my long range shooting.
Apparently I need an app on my phone.

    Build a precision AR.
    A 4 inch 1911. Possibly with a .22 conversion.
    A Henry lever action .22.
Hopefully a Ruger single action in .22lr to go with my .22 mags.
    A 1911 .22lr
And of course lots more ammo to feed them.

Get a good scope on my Grendel.
Get a DA .44 mag revolver.
Figure out which bolt action rifle to buy next.
    Continue to avoid buying Glocks.

All I can think of is better glass. I have good scopes now but there are much better available. I need a better spotting scope too.

I am behind on my reloading. I need to keep up on that more.

Edited to add: I need to get more involved on the rights side of the sport. I have improved my range time, especially with family and friends. But I could improve my involvement with inviting new shooters, competition, and furthering and protecting our rights.

If you want to sell any of those vortex FFP scopes I would be interested :)

Since presbyopia is rearing its ugly head, I am looking at putting red dots on my pistols.

    Also, a B&T APC9 SBR.

My first suppressor is on order, just waiting for the tax stamp. Should arrive in time for my birthday in September.
2017 is the year I start gathering the equipment to begin competing in the cowboy matches. I'll also get back into reloading.
That should be enough on my plate for the year.

I worked on many guns in 2016 and switched from the iron sight rifles that I love to optical sights. Two cataracts left no other choice. Had limited range time in 2016 but that's going to change in 2017!

2017 will be "The year of the bullet!" The guns are ready to go, ammo is here and it's time to get out and shoot!

Working up loads for AR-15 rifles in .458 Socom and .300 Blackout are high on the priority list. Recipes for .300 Blackout are pretty common but my goal was to load them economically. By staying around 150 grain bullets, the .300 can be loaded CHEAPLY!

.458 Socom is a real challenge and that's still in the works. Most people get scared off by the high Dollar projectiles for the .458. Custom bullets for the .458 can cost $1 to $2 per projectile. By using 45-70 bullets, the .458 can be loaded very economically. Slugs for 45-70 are the same diameter and by staying with bullets in the 300 grain range, the .458 Socom can be loaded cheaply!

The most versatile powder for .300 Blackout, .458 Socom and .410 3" is Hodgdon H110.

The new Lyman #50 manual has the loading recipes for the whole list of oddball AR-15 cartridges.

That's the plan for 2017 loading and shooting.

    My shooting goals for 2017...

    For Smallbore Silhouette:
    - Make "AAA" class in Standard Rifle.
    - Get at least one "Master" class score for either Standard or Hunter Rifle.

    For Air Rifle Silhouette:
    - Make "AAA" class for Target and Open Rifle.
    - Get at least one "Master" class score in any rifle.

I will compete in the Texas State Championships again but I want to hit at least two other major out-of-state matches. Nationals would be great but I can't commit to that.

Two other goals are for the Rimfire Central Offhand Rifle Challenge:
    - Get a 25-yard score of 485 (out of 500). Best to date is 479.
    - Get a 50-yard score of 225 (out of 250). Best to date is 218.

That's about it for me. I'd love to see more performance-based goals from you guys rather than just "buy this gun" or "go the the range more".
