That's a lot to ponder.
I'd only met one USS Arizona attack survivor in my life.
He passed about a decade ago.
His surviving family traveled there and scattered his ashes from the memorial.

It's a pity the news article is so poorly written. From what I could put together he had a hell of a career that started off with a lot of excitement. Not many made it off the Arizona.

Joe Flaherty, an original cast member on the Canadian sketch comedy series "SCTV" died on Monday. He was 82.

Joe Flaherty was hilarious on SCTV and was probably in more movies than most realize (i.e., he was Sal Stewart, Raoul Lipschitz in 1941 (a great comedy!), Sam Slaton in Used Cars, a Czechoslovakian border guard in Stripes, a death row inmate in Johnny Dangerously, and the Texas TV Station Manager in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy just to name a few!

Rest easy, Joe, and thanks for all the laughs!!

Probably a bit obscure for some, but I have been a huge fan of Ultravox since the early 80s when I was living in the UK...

Ultravox bassist and ‘Vienna’ co-writer Chris Cross has died aged 71​

​

(Cross) was one of Vienna’s founding members in 1974 when the group began as Tiger Lily, with singer Dennis Leigh, guitarist Stevie Shears, drummer Warren Cann and violinist/keyboardist Billy Currie.

They changed their name to Ultravox in 1976 and had middling success with three albums, before the arrival of Midge Ure in 1979 changed their fortunes.

With Ure on board, the group released their breakthrough album Vienna, which featured the song of the same name...

C.J. Snare, Lead Singer of FireHouse, Dead at 64: 'A Sad Day for Rock 'n' Roll'

Per Wikipedia, In September 2020, Snare was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. In September 2023, he took a hiatus from FireHouse to undergo abdominal surgery in October. Although he intended to return to the band for their shows in summer 2024, he died on April 5, 2024, of cardiac arrest. He was 64.
