2nd Amendment March SXSW Austin, Tx

On Saturday the wife and I went to South by Southwest in Austin to spend the day. The sights and sounds were as expected, good music, cute women and of course some of Obama's chosen ones. But what I didn't expect to see and kind of made me wish I had packed my AR was a 2nd amendment march taking place.

How'd that turn out? I heard about it happening but haven't heard much else.

There was a good turn out. They covered almost a whole intersection. Guys were very respectful and nice. A lot of ARs, few AKs and shotguns. There was one topless old lady blowing bubbles with a sign that said "more boobs less guns" but no one was taking her seriously. I did hear some comments from others like, "OMG are those real guns?", "they are not men without a gun, put it down and I'll show you." (That came from a tattooed hipster with a Mohawk and skinny jeans) and "I don't feel safe around these people" (funny about that one is they were walking in close proximity of a police officer and his gun didn't bother her).
