I apologize I didn't post about this sooner. Over at the RTKBA forum they've come up with a new mailing campaign that should hopefully get some politicians to take notice and reconsider some of their positions. The jist of it? Basically every Monday, beginning 1-19-2009, a specific person will be determined on the RTKBA site to receive our generous gift of [hopefully] thousands upon thousands of 2x4's emblazoned with the second amendment! ;) On Tuesdays each of us that participate will mail our own little generous gift (2x4) off to the week's predetermined recipient. It may not seem like much, but if each person just simply gets a 2x4, attaches a copy of the 2A in some manner, and mails it off, and if we can manage to get even just 1000 people to participate, it is sure to leave a lasting effect in any politician's mind! I'm sure most of us have a number of 2x4's just laying around and serving no purpose, so lets start putting them to work! ;) I mean just imagine sitting around the office one morning, then your secretary keys in over the office phone and says you have quite a few packages waiting for you. You step outside the office, and there piled from the ground to above your secretary's desk is a stack of packages amounting to a thousand or so 2x4's....all with one simple sentence written on them. Time is money when it comes to politicians. Short and to the point is what it is all about, and a 2x4 with the 2A attached/written on it is about as blunt as it gets. Come on people, lets get in on this and put some Texan spirit into it! Here's the original thread with all of the details:

RIGHTtoKeepAndBearArms.com - 2x4 Tuesday

I will be updating this thread as new recipients are determined each week.

I apologize for not updating you sooner. The first recipient of our gracious gift of "paperweights" in the form of 2x4's is none other than the new president elect! That guarantees this mailing campaign to start out in full force. ;) Here's the mailing address:

President Barack Hussein Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Please keep any comments included in the mailing polite, respectful and try to keep it clear and concise. Short and to the point will help get the point across. For more details on what we are sending and why, please refer to the RTKBA thread in the original post. The jist for those that don't want to read it all is to take a 2x4, attach a copy of the second amendment (writing or printing it on something thick like a card is a good idea) and then attach it to the 2x4 (tape, don't use nails or staples). The idea is we are going to announce a new person every monday, and the 2x4's will go out the next day for as long as we can get people to do this. Come on fellow Texans, lets show our support!

That's kind of it. Some of these things really don't have a specific, productive purpose other than to annoy those that we need on our side.

"Protect the 2A" is and general and doesn't incite any specific action.

I want to mail my old backyard deck to Nancy Pelosi.

No specific message. Just ... my old decking material showing up via USPS.

Sounds like you have got the bug. However, I am not sure that we can keep the cost down enough to get the message across. Also, I am concerned that some nut in Washington DC would take the 2x4’s and use them to build a small Wet-Bar for Ted Kennedy and George Soros.

Note: Not just the Second Amendment idea…..

Texas Constitution: Article 1, Section 23: RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.

What we need to do is start teaching the Castle Doctrine Policies that our forefathers wanted for us. We need to understand our purpose for policing our own communities. We need to start by getting involved in government and letting our leaders know that we won’t stand for the selling out of our nation. If the Federal Government signs on to international treaties with the UN to outlaw civilian firearms, then Texas will be required to Amend it’s Constitution or official protest by Succeeding from the Union. Either way, it will be a fight.

Hmm, I've still got some pieces left form mine, and an old play set. Maybe we can get a Hot Shot to pick you're up, swing through the DFW area and pick mine up.

Just leave a few rusty screws or nails in it.
